My 86 500 Interceptor has only 5000 miles. Has new fuel in it. Sat for over a year when I bought it. Tank inside is very clean looking. When it does run it runs ok. Will idle when warmed up. Take it for a mile of two and starts to run out of gas. (Full tank) checked gas cap and free flowing air. Shouldn't be vapor lock? Could the petcock have issues? If I squirt start fluid in air box it will start and eventually start running again? Soon as I go down the road for a few miles it stalls out all over? Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

When it does this, if you stop and turn it off for a minute or two, is it good to go after that for the same duration? I had the exact same issue as described and my problem was that when I put the gas tank back on, I had pinched the fuel line from the tank to the carb. Mine were not OEM, so they were a little longer and I had to shorten them. To me, it sounds like a fueling issue.

Well took off the petcock and tore into it. I found the diaphragm for the vacuum was crinkled. Fixed and runs awesome!
