    Hi everyone!
I have had an RC24 for just under a year now and I just got an RC36 project bike! The RC24 was my first bike ever, and I think the greatest testament to how great these bikes are built is how easy it was for me to learn! I felt more comfortable on my 750 than on the training school's ninja 250, and I love the power these guys put out! I had to get an RC36 to see what the fuss was all about (higher compression and all) and I wound up getting a sweet project bike for $300! I just finished wiring it today and I love the sound of those cams! Combined with the high revs, quick response, and throaty kick, it sounds like I'm in the cockpit of a supertuned big block v8! I love it!

ps. If you live in the Houston area and you've seen some idiot grinning as he flies down the freeway on an RC24, it was me

Welcome to the World and don't forget to post up some pics of the bike. If you want to hear something really cool try removing the exhaust at the header connection. I ran my 97 without the exhaust for a couple minutes while I was adding a slip-on exhaust just after I purchased the bike and MAN what a sweet sounding exhaust note. It was really loud but had such a fantastic rumble at idle.

    Welcome man.

I'm in Houston as well. We should ride some time, I'm actually thinking about meeting some people for a ride out in the Brenham direction this weekend. I live out in Katy.

Post some pics of the bikes!

I'll be trying this out today as I get my fluids in and she'll be ready for her first fire up! You know you love your bike when everyday you get to mess with it feels like Christmas, lol! Thanks for the welcome and the tip! I'll see if I can't make a video out of it!

 that'd be great! I can't do this weekend, but by this time next week my ponies should be out of the garage again! I live in Sagemont, right where the beltway and 45 meet, just north of Friendswood and Clear Lake, between Pearland and Pasadena! Katy isn't far at all on that bike! My 94 just got a cbr600rr's swingarm and I'm also trying to get her some fairings. My 86 is just waiting on a new engine. Lord willing they'll be back to great working order and I'll be a happy camper again soon. Until then, this rain is appropriate, lol!
I'll have to try to get some photos today!

Lol! Well thanks for sharing your city! I will say though, since I got my bike I've only seen one other VFR in the area, and I was so surprised that I didn't realize how hard I was staring and ran into the curb!
I regularly visit the Woodlands/Kingwood area for a few clients of mine! You probably wouldn't have seen me though, as I always took 59 for less traffic and more lanes(I-45 is where people go to die)! I have been drooling about the Moto Race since they first put the billboards up! I'm more than just a little "perturbed" about missing the Houston race, but bike or no bike: I'll be going to Austin if I have to walk there, lol!
I really want to see the new VFR Honda's been talking about in person, the RC213V! There's supposed to be a production superbike version coming in the near future! I may never be able to afford one, but that can't stop me from drooling, lol!
    Just let me know!

    Hey Lifer 88.

Welcome to the site. Seems I am kinda grounded a bit this year but I am constructing a plan to escape for a month or two next year. Houston just might see the likes of this crazy bastard sometime in the spring of 2014. Maybe you will be finished with your project by then.

Thanks for the welcome! And I guarantee you this: By that time next year, I'll have pictures of something. It'll either be photo albums of two beautifully restored classics, or a single picture of a grown man crying, lol!
Sorry about your being grounded, I know how ya feel, but if you let us know far enough in advance we might be able to help you plan your visits! I know every year here in the fall we have a pretty huge bike festival in Galveston with people coming from all over the states for that weekend! It started as a cruiser thing and then just kept getting bigger. Now it's an everybody thing, and it's flat out astonishing just how many bikers there are that show from here and abroad!
Unfortunately, it seems that my luck stops me from being able to enjoy such awesomeness, lol! I missed our moto gp for a downed engine and missed the bike festival from a flat tire! Not to whine, but boo-hoo! It's ok though! There's so much going on here that there's always something coming up, it's just keeping in touch with the right people that helps to keep me ahead of the fun!
That's an impressive mileage ticker for your bike, by far the most I've ever heard for an 800! If you ever get the chance to visit the area let me know! I'd be honored to show you around!

My plans will likely be carved into wet sand at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Very sound and pronounced until the next wave hits then all goes to hell. But it will coincide with the annual BBQ in Atascadero which is usually the Memorial Weekend. Then I will just get ont he bike and ride, stop wherever, or just keep on going. Likely I will post up a ride thread before I head out and try to keep it updated. But this is a big maybe. I just dod my taxes and those bastards in Ottawa want more of my money. The blood sucken leaches!
