I know what you're thinking, "Not again!, learn how to ride Dude!". Well, it's not like that this time...

I ended up buying a used 2001 with 16K on the clock. It's in great shape but as with all 5 Gens, I'll have to check the usual suspects and do my due diligence. I plan on making this a track/sport only bike and keep my 6 gen for it's first intended role, as a commuter and part time tourer/canyon bike. Since I pretty much did most of, if not all of the mods on my 6 Gen, I figured it's time to move to a new toy. I'll probably do most of the mods I did on the 6 Gen, PCV, SS Brake lines, EBC Brakes, JD suspension, plus a few others I didn't get to on the 6 Gen...8 spoke wheel for one! (Thanks Rollin!).

So with that here she is...but keep it quiet, the wife still doesn't know yet!

Hiding? Yes. In an box?, close, but not exactly. The back of my garage has a shelf that goes along the back wall, the bike fits just underneath the shelf allowing me to fit the two bikes and the car in a single car garage. The Duc and the 01 VFR parallel the back wall, the 09 and the car are perpendicular to them. It's a tight fit but they all live together nicely. Fortunately our town home has 2 single car garages, we'll call them a 'his' and 'hers' for now, she never needs to go into my garage!

Buying more toys the wife doesn't know about? I don't see a problem, it's already sitting in your garage!

Like I said before, Its easier to ask for forgiveness then it is to ask for permission,as I learned by my neighbor with 4 rides, cracked up when he said that with his wife standing right there

I went to high school with someone who in the middle of winter, bought and old Indian and buried it in the snow in the back yard so his mother would not find out. Never did here what happened in the spring.

    Have fun!

Well, making progress on the "refresh", I got the front wheel back from powder coating. I decided to have it done in white, to match the white 8 spoke I bought off of RollinAgain. Still have quite a bit to do, probably going to flush/fill the coolant and brake lines this weekend. I replaced the chain and sprockets and flushed/filled the clutch line the last time I had a chance to work on her.

She knows and wasn't too upset about it, mostly disappointed that I didn't discuss it with her first. I'm still "decompressing" from the ride! I only have a few pics on my iPhone and as luck (or unluck) would have it, my GoPro didn't get video coverage, I believe that M got some footage though.

Great news:party2:, I got my forks and shock back from Jamie today:thumbsup:. I had him redo the front with the rebound adjustable CBR internals, new springs and valving and also re-spring/re-valve a Penske shock I found on eBay a while back. I don't really trust FedEx/UPS with bubble wrap/cardboard shipments, particularly with heavy items, so I used a Pelican rile case to send them off. I got a little gift in the box on it's return! Since the weather isn't the best right now, a little wet, windy and cold, I figure tomorrow will be a great day for installing the new goods! Slowly making progress. I still need to address the cracked plastics and then paint, but suspension and motor are coming first.

I still need time and money to do the cat-less headers, 2Bros can and PCV/Dyno tune, a little at a time.:vtr2:
