    That would make sense. Many bikes have come from that overpopulated, blue but now bankrupt state...many have. No sign of the canister...maybe I'll look for other evidence. Is there a vin designation for california bikes? ...Ah ha, I just checked the decals on the back inner fender. Yup, Hippie model. Maybe I'll try and locate the missing paraphernalia and hook it back up. Thanks guys!
