Just bought a 99 VFR800

Pretty much mint condition with 6700 miles ... for $3000 which I thought was a good deal. I pick it up tomorrow and then the tweaking begins.

It will be my commuter bike and will sit alongside a K600GTL, ZRX1200, CBR1000F and a KDX220....

 

Thats a very good deal if the bike is clean and it actually is correct mileage. If you have any pictures would love to see it. I have right at 35k on mine and i wouldnt let it go that cheap. Also ask him if the regulator/rectifier has been upgraded. Chances are it hasnt with such low miles. But to be honest i would be skeptical of a bike that has that low of miles going for such a good price if i didnt know some history on the bike or person. Either way welcome to the site. Lots ofreally good info on here about the vfrs.

 

Congrats on the new sled----ditto on what Taylor said----regular maintenance? tires? are they original? and the usual stuff like chain & sprockets in good shape? how many owners?:thumb:enjoy

 

Here's a pic. It has new tires and a new battery. One owner since new. Saw the paperwork. The guy doesn't ride anymore and it's just been sitting in his garage. He has a nice house and has lived there for years, and his wife works in the next building to me, so I'm not worried about the legitimacy of the deal. I did not ask about the upgrade. My take is I just got lucky.

Dude, no joke you stole that. I paid more than that for mine and it was in rough shape. I just wasn't willing to wait any longer for my bike.

 

I think you would be much happier with a good broken in 98 like mine. I will trade you even steven too. Looks as though you came across one of those deals we all like to find. Mine has 35k and still looks as though it has 6800 but i sure wish it did. You may want to start playing the lottery i think you are on a lucky streak. Congrats very nice.
