went and got a new tire put on today. pirelli angel st. i even paid an extra twenty bucks to have them take the wheel off the bike instead of doing it myself and carrying it down there, that way i could go for a bit of a ride. at the shop they told me that they had to use dyna beads cause they had no way to balance a single sided wheel. never heard of such but figured oh well. rode her the twenty miles or so home and she felt fine. left for work a couple hours later and glanced over at my baby setting in the garage and noticed that my brand new tire was flat. got home a bit ago and pulled off the wheel and tire and shot some air to it. it has a big assed egg in the sidewall of the tire, bad enough that it wont seal against the rim.

i have been running an angel on the front for a while. i have angels on my dyna, a good friend of mine has pirellies on all 5 of his bikes and several of the guys at work also run the angels.i have no, nor have i heard any complaints. so im wondering, could the dynabeads have caused this, or am i just lucky? also, what are you guys thoughts on dynabeads? i know nothing about them but am considering if when i bring my wheel back tomorow to get a new tire if i should tell them not to put in the dynabeads and just take my wheel to an automotive tire shop to be balanced. thanks in advance

Can you post a picture of this "egg"? I do not think the dynabeads did it, might be a defective tire though.

My bet is they damaged that tire when they put it on the rim. Take it back and have them fix it with a new tire. Did you buy the tire from them? If they provided the tire they will get you a new one. If you bought it online then you have to send it back to get a new one. Some tires are bad to begin with, and some could be damaged in shipping.

i had a brand new Avon tire that would not hold air more than a couple days. Rim was OK, valve was OK. They eventually sent me another tire, but I never figured out how a tire can be "defective"

if the tire has the egg lookin spot in in then probably when it was made that part of the sidewall wasnt done right. otherwise when you take it back look at it once its broken down and see if they tried to sell you one with a patched sidewall. ive seen that a few times on car and tractor tires.

dyna beads work great, dont think they could do any damage to the tire

took it back today. the guy in the shop wasnt sure why it messed up but was taking it off to put my old tire (luckily they still had it) back on till a new angel comes in. everyone was very nice and apologetic and i was already satisfied with the way i was being treated when mike the service manager came out. he was very polite, as for an explanation as to what happened, he looked at the tire and simply said "those double side wall pirellis can be tricky to put on, we are sorry." he then told the guy mounting my old tire back on my rim to stop what he was doing and to go get me a brand new tire of my choice from their inventory to use till my new pireli comes in next week. i told him that he didnt have to do that and he simply said "yes i do". he also said that he had just ordered me a set of brake pads cause he noticed when my bike was in yesterday that i was getting close to needing them, which i do. said that when i come in next week to get my tire mounted they will do me a free brake job for my trouble!

sure, the whole deal was a bit of a pain in the ass but ya know, shit happens. and for them to go as far as they did to make it right, even after i was already cool with the whole deal and planned to use them again, hey... suzuki city, pops ferry road, biloxi ms. good people!!!

Yah. I did. And I think I can find it readily and post the link. I have said a few times recently about some here who have been done wrong by, to post up the fugger so we all know who they are. Well I also say post up this business. Lets show them that we believe the good after sale service they showed troutkiller is appreciated and we should try to send some business their way.

    Good on this business.
