Yes, it happened again! Another low side, this time it was me on my Duc! This is the second time in a few months for me. First time I hit water and similar action happened. Both times I was under 20mph and I wasn't hurt in either case, except my pride! For the record, I was ATGATT, always am if I'm sport riding. Although I really can't say I am all that surprised, this road was more suited for a dual sport but we were already more than 2/3 the way through so onward and upward we went. Hard to tell from the video clip, but basically the rear slid out to the left and the front washed out. As you'll see it happened really fast!

Happened so fast! Under braking? I'm really sorry about the low speed crash. However, I'm very glad you are okay and it happened at less than 5 mph or so it looked like.

One thing I've learned from reading General Aviation after accident reports, it's to make a conscious decision to turn around when the going gets rough or questionable. Go back to when conditions where acceptable. Easier said than done and most people (myself included) have been guilty of not following that rule. Like riding on and on up a mountain pass when visibility kept dropping to near zero and the snow on the road kept on building up......yup. Been there done that and I kept saying to myself: just over that turn or hill things will get better. LOL! I still keep doing that. Gotta be a guy-thing.

Good thing you didn't get hurt!

Simple stuff like that gets expensive, especially on a Duc! That was a strange fall, kinda like the rear went to the right first and then you counter steered and the whole thing went wrong in a millisecond.

    Bummer dude.

I have been out a couple times on roads that were really too moist for anything but a Sunday putt-putt session and had to keep reminding myself of that, but you were on really nasty stuff. Glad it was mostly pride that got bumped around.

    Yeah this was uncalled for.

If you have ever crashed you should know that many crashes often happens in a single moment. First moment you are in total control. The next moment you're down sliding. The road was not gravel although it was full of rocks in some sections. It's hard to tell unless you were there you will never know. I've been on that road and it begins as a smooth road and then deteriorates and pretty soon it's a dirty road and you're trying to find a place to turn around (see how narrow it was). As we say here in the USA: "Shit happens!"

You know, we should not come down hard on Zanexman or whatever his name is. I mean he probably rides public transit so he experiences all the hazards of daily riding.

If you want some excitement in your life, you sometimes have to take calculated chances. Sometimes the decimal point moves and the calculations all go for shit.

I am really glad your OK. I thought it was amazing that you didn't say "shit." I always say this just before and a whole string of them right after. It was a was a strange fall but I was seeing all kinds of golf ball sized rocks spread around in the video. All you have to do is hit one at a strange angle and it will roll the whole front end out of your hands. Gravel sucks.

Never disparage other people riding least you bust your own ass on some rock strewn road. We are all brother (and sister) riders and we have ALL been down that road.

This is my own little slice of heaven that I must to ride before I can get anywhere. This road is really bad. I am riding about 30 mph but I am straying on the clear tire paths. If the road his just been rocked it can be treacherous. The video is long and boring but what the hell.

Well as they say, I'll have to agree to disagree. First, I did not get up and say "I think I'll go for an off road adventure ride, in fact, I'll take the Duc!". Did I deserve to crash, I don't think so, but I am not arrogant or foolish enough to think it couldn't have happened! The road for the most part is paved and can be negotiated fairly easily, it is just certain sections that got a little hairy. It just so happened to be my time to go down. The lead rider went through this section quite a bit faster than we did (me and the rider in front of me), in fact at this point he was at least two turns ahead of us. Also at this point, we were well beyond the point of no return, so it made sense to grin and bear it. Secondly, I didn't post this for sympathy, I posted to share my experiences with others, some may learn from my mishap, others may just criticize it and call me irresponsible. Whatever, those who know me and have ridden with me know what my capabilities are and that I am not a careless rider.

As far as a better owner, you don't know me or how I treat my vehicles so I'll take that remark with a grain of salt. I did speak with my beloved 'Bella Rosa' and all is forgiven, she understands that sometimes we are put into situations that lead to bad things. She also is very grateful that our 18 year relationship is more than some with ever have, the fact that I have cared for her, kept her out of the elements and not under some tarp out in the back yard, kept her in the finest shoes and always kept her cleaned and protected. You gotta love her!
