Well, you point out one of the reasons I never worried about what belt I have there Rust. I just know I could get back my helmet if I needed to. Agreed ... that fucking sucks and I WISH you could have had some video or caught the cocksucker in the act.

    Props to you Toe.

Major props to all who would kick down a spare helmet to a board member. What a righteous bunch of dudes and dudettes we keep round these here parts.

We got your dumb thieves, some really dumb thieves and some smart ones. A topbox, bigass panniers or a D ring security hook is not going to stop a determined thief. The smart ones know what they are after, check shit out wait for ya go and it's bye-bye stuff. Popping the lock on a topbox made of plastic or fiberglass takes a prybar and nothing more. Cutting a D-ring strap takes a razor knife.

My guess is this caper was perpetrated and executed by an international ring posing as retirees often seen in lurking about in Winnabagos in WalMart parking lots.

MAN! Same thing happened to me with my first good helmet. Arai, Quantum series. Had that lid only half a season and someone cut the strap and it was gone. I have never ever left anything with my bike since. Damn, that is LOW.

If i did get a bunch of helmets I would have started a loaner system for when this happens to people in the future, I would pay it forward. I'm honored to one of you all too.

We are not total strangers We all have a love and fascination with the wonderful VRF, thus we are all friends.

YIKES!! I was crusin a harleydood BB and there were 27 instances of stolen helmets. The wording was the same but the sigs were all sort of diffent.

There was "Mad Dog, Big Dog, Weenie Dog, Pee on the rug Dog, Lap Dog, Hound Dog. Puppy Dog, Dog Dog" and many more. It sure sounds like a scam to me, and I am not sending those guys nothing.

Well said. Plenty of people from this forum have helped me out over the years. Just returning a favor to a fellow rider.

that sux. I have an XL Shoei that could be used for a temp helmet I think. I hit it on right side and I kept wearing it while I got money for a new Shoei. Funny thing is my size went down with the 1100 vs the 1000, but it might be that I had salesman show me how the helmet was supposed to fit on the new one.

Pliskin is the man, he hooked me up with a top notch loaner that will get me through this season at least, he is a kind man, may karma smile down on him. This helmet when retired will be placed on a shelf with the note he sent me (tell me to ride safe and keep the rubber side down). I will pay it forward to this forum in the future.

    Shinny side up
