    Hello everyone,

I'm brand new to this forum, and the VFR motorcycle. My last bike was a 1989 Kawasaki Ninja 750F but I always had a love for the VFR's.

Anyway, the bike has just under 15K on it and it's in good condition, but has light scuff marks on one side and the fuel tank has a small chip on it. The bike also has an aftermarket seat. Below are some pictures of it:

    HondaVFR800_1999_1.jpg HondaVFR800_1999_4.jpg HondaVFR800_1999_3.jpg HondaVFR800_1999_2.jpg HondaVFR800_1999_5.jpg

What I would like to do right away is see if Honda sells touch up paint for the fuel tank and wheels, and replace the hand grips with comfortable ones. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The bike has the stock exhaust and sounds nice, but I may put a performance exhaust on in the near future.

Any suggestions and comments would be much appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Pete

    ColoRite for touch up paint.

Um, what's not comfortable about the grips? Grip Puppies?

    And congrats!

Congrats. That is a clean bike. I know Honda still sells touch up paint for the 6th gen's. Get some heli bars if you are not comfortable with the ride position. They cost about 275..

Congrats on the bike. Looks mint! On the exhaust, mine has a Vance & Hines slip-on and it sounds so nice! Here's a video, not mine but one I found on YouTube with the same exhaust and similar year bike.

One thing I would check into would be the charging system (R/R). Lots to read in the forums about it. Better to get it sorted out before it causes problems down the road or leaves you stranded I say. I just ordered a kit for my 2000, my R/R is still working per say, but runs very hot and the bike loses charge on short rides. Good kits available from RoadsterCycle and WireMyBike to name a couple. Just a thought.

    Enjoy her!

Welcome. Your "aftermarket" seat is likely the one of choice around here so I would not go changing that.

The seat is very comfortable for sure, and I have no plans of changing that. I picked the bike up yesterday and took it for a ride around the parking lot. Love the throaty sound of the V-4 compared to my old ZX7R.

Mello, I'll look into the Pro Grip 699 grips

    Thanks
