Last Fall I fried the electrical system on my VFR. I was wearing a heated vest AND heated gloves from First Gear at the time. I didn't have to get a new rectifier altho I did replace it AND a new wiring harness. Could the heated vest + the heated gloves be too much for my system? ('96 VFR). Any ideas folks? Thanks - Alex:rolleyes:

anybody here ever think of putting proper rated fusible links in line to the rectifier such as the automotive industry uses on automotives?
ive utilized them on my old 4th gen and would much rather have the charging system failures take out a fusible link rather then a new harness.
my earlier years v45, saber had the usual tendency of frying the reg, so after the 1st failure and replacing harness i soldered in a 70's model ford wire type fusible link.
id much rather solder in a new link and replace the fried reg then a new harness with it the next failure.
it usually saves the rectifier from my experiences.
