OK... I'm new here but now I have a question. I have an1998 vfr 800 and I need to know will the exhaust headers from an 02 vfr 800 fit? I've noticed that the front pipes of the 02 cross over but will it fit? Please help
Don't think so. The Honda part numbers are not the same, and a parts schematic shows two substantially different parts. Why are you asking?

The '98 headers fit on the '02 and up so it should go the other way. But the '00 and up has a catalytic and O2 sensors that you wouldn't want on your '98. Keep looking for '98-'99, or check out the aftermarket pipes, Delkevic and Motad (David Silver Spares - Parts For Honda Motorcycles - HOME) make them.
I was going to recommend the Delkevic as well. They make a stainless exhaust system for $275 I think. Nice price and from what I understand they are actually really good. If I had the money and the wrenching aptitude, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
