this is too funny, i've been looking at this exact bike (someone just told me in another forum i posted this bike in)

But it sounds like im in the same boat as you, I LOVE this bike and love the color, plus I own a 93 vfr750 which is also white so my gear will match lol
BUT I do think this is very over-priced. I think 6k is maybe fair for an '06, but not a deal by any means, but this one has been dropped on both sides so not worth that.
It's taking everything I have to not go and just buy this lmao but I must be patient...

Plus I don't want to buy from them anyway, he doesn't want to budge on the price a single penny, and he actually had the nerve to tell me "well my profit on this bike is only like $300 so i can't budge on the price" BULL****!! NO WAY they paid $5700 for this, i guarantee they paid maybe 4k lol

anyway good luck, but since it seems you're my competition now well, when a good deal pops up I guess ill race ya! lol

Too much especially given that from the pics, the bike has crash damage. I'd go $4500 at most and even then only after a through inspection from an independent shop (read one I trust)...

Dial up one of the "bluebook" sites that feature bikes as well as cages. Plug in the stats on the bike and with a little arithmetic you will be able to figure within a few bucks how much the dearlership has marked up the bike.

Forget about using the dealer's general description of the bike being " Perfect, a ten, ect." T
    hey all say that.

Call and speak with the sales manager. Make it clear that you are going to make one offer and he has one shot at selling you the bike., then you are gone.

Gotta go with the rest of the guys here overall ..Way too much for that bike..

I'm holding out for a better deal, despite the fact that I like the look of the bike, the damage does not warrant the cost.

Take this one so I dont have competition later once a better deal shows up hehe :D

Good choice, i made the same decision. You may not have competition though, while searching for a vfr800 I came across a 2005 triumph sprint st 1050, I had never considered this bike until I saw it, it's pretty similar to the vfr800. Im going to look at it this Wednesday. Keep this thread updated though please, I am going to keep an eye out for a good deal on a vfr and ill let you know.

It will be tough to choose between the Sprint and a VFR. I still haven't been able to make a choice. So I have both. The triple is a great engine. The 1050 is much more refined than the 955i I have. I have got ~50k miles on my 955i and no problems so far. The previous owner said he did not have any problems while he owned it either. The new Triumphs are very reliable. Don't be afraid by some people who are not familiar with the reborn Triumphs saying they are unreliable based on their experience/ hearsay about the older Triumphs.

    Good Luck

I wouldnt want to own a bike that has a propratory computer system on it such as the new "Triumphs" they use an Activa tool, and no its not a yogurt either :flip:. Your locked into dealing with the stealership. Now if your tawking an older carbureted Bonnie or Thruxton, it might be another story. A nice viffer is a better deal for the sport-touring frontier end of story.

I am not sure what you mean? My 955i has the easiest FI system I have encountered as far as tuning , diagnosing etc goes. All I needed was a $12 cable (from amazon.com) and download the free TuneEcu software to my laptop and I am ready to tweak the fuel map or flash a new map downloaded. No need to get a Power Commander or the likes. I can even do the TB sync from reading the Intake vacuum from the manifold sensors through the free software.

I don't know if the new ones have changed. I have used the same software on a 2007 1050 speed triple aswell. I know it hasn't changed till 2007 for sure.
