Hi, fellow "VFR:ers"! I am nowadays a proud owner of a VFR 750F -95. New to this forum and new to VFR (and bikes in general), some technical questions about my bike: 1. When I ride on above ~5000 rpm on 1st gear and release the throttle, a noise is heard, like a tiny scrathing. Disappears when i reach ~2000 rpm. Anyone knows what it might be? 2. When I am in neutral I can hear (and lightly feel) vibrations when i release the clutch. When the clutch is activated no such vibrations exists. The vibrations and noise is not loud enough to be disturbing though... 3. When i change from 1st gear to 2nd at ~8000 rpm (releasing the throttle and holding the clutch first of course) there is a light extra "tick" when shifting gears. Are these things common and nothing to care about or are they maybe related in some way? I still have warranty from the shop where I bought it...so very greatful for any comments! Best regards -- "VFR-Benster" Sweden
...or maybe I am just being to picky and looking real hard for non-existent errors..? Regards /Benster
Not a talkative crowd here, huh!?!? Hi ~ I'm new to this site as well, but I've had my VFR for a few years now. I'm not a real technical person so I can't really explain anything but the 2nd (mine does this as well - stops when the cluch is engaged)and 3rd thing (same here - guessing it has to do with getting through neutral..maybe? Did this response make any of you drop to the floor hysterically laughing?) you mentioned sound like normal things. I don't have any thoughts on the first thing you mentioned - anybody, anyone?? hellloooo????? :-/ ;D Anyway, more or less just letting you know that yours isn't the only one doing it. Maybe some mechanical people will jump in..... Welcome!
noises Vibe at idle is normal, it can be minimised by having the carbs balanced. The clunk on 2nd gear power upshifts is also normal ( all hondas and most bikes suffer from it to a degree. About the only thing that damages vfr engines is hevy artillery
