    Hi!

My clutch began slipping last summer after some burnouts and I guess it's pretty obvious that the clutch is done and needs some repair. I made some calls for bike repair places and the conclusions on this topic were:

    - Honda clutch parts are really expensive
    - other brands (like EBC) are a really much cheaper
    - depending on who you did your call, the other brand produts were not recommended or there had not been any complaints

I would like to ask if you have had any experiences if you've changed your clutch plates for whatever brand?

    Thanks!

Only thing I can say is all the Barnett clutch's I've installed or have heard all make some kind of noise at idle in neutral. Some haven't work as well as stock. Those were put in by others so who knows what they did.

I used stock Honda when I did mine. The cost was about 30% more, that's all.

I have used the after market brands in the past but only use OEM with a bit stiffer spring now. I think it is the best combo for long life and reliability.

I used Barnett but it does not feel like the original OEM, It does not engage like theOEM when new.....Maybe just me.
Will go back to OEM next time around

really depends on your driving style habits. oem friction discs are made of cork impregnated paper, and aftermarkets have oem quality cork also, but if your going to abuse the bikes clutch the kevlar or carbon stand up to the abuse a bit longer. the kevlar and carbon require a longer break in period and have different feel to them but will handle more abuse.
ive used both over the years but my driving style i prefer somthing thats gonna take abuse. as far as smooth engagement the oems are best, but if your gonna drive it hard the kevlar or carbon will handle the high heat generated from the abuse better. a lot of people dont like the stronger springs but me personally i prefer them over the weaker springs. the lever feel is tad bit stiffer and little harder on the hydraulic clutch but its a small trade off for better holding. if the stiffer springs are to much for a person they better hit the gym and get stronger lol
me im a big guy 6'2" 230 lbs with forearms like popeye so the stiffer ones dont bother me.

I would go with the OEM on a stock bike.. It is worth the extra premium to me..

chances are oem honda frictions are either made by ebc, vesrah or other comparable clutch company and relabeled for hondas useage anyways. every bike, car whatever company dosent make every single item on there parts lists. you buy from oem franchise your just paying for a relabeled product anyways probably made in china or somwere lol every company sub contracts out to others for certain needs. its just more cost effective for them that way.
oem cork empregnated frictions by vesrah, ebc and stiffer springs is your most economical choice.

Extra Heavy Duty springs and OEM all the way.
Second best is EBC in my opinion.
