Hey guys, pretty new to the forum although I've looked through a couple threads. I bought my first VFR 750-(RC36) '93 last summer on suggestion from my uncle who swears by 'em. It was torn apart and not really put together right, so there are a few things I need to do: (new) solo seat, battery box, high beam wiring, and the first mechanical thing to wear in my possession, the starter clutch. I've already done some searching and haven't found anything but the starter clutch kit for $130. So my questions are. . . What are some good sites to look for stock parts? Aftermarket sites? -for a solo seat, starter clutch kit, etc. Can I look to other models/years for compatible parts -engine but mainly body parts
Craigslist. these older bikes are more for enthusiasts. i can go on craigslist right now and buy a running 95 vfr750 for 600$. Thats what i love about my bike that its unique and parts are cheap. This is mine. i bought it stock with fairings and all but i knew what i wanted it to like. 1000$ PLUS another 300$ in upgrades for bike..
I would look for a sub-frame, a seat and a wiring harness. They are all out there for the Gen 3 bike, I know, because I have seen them. Get a factory manual for this generation (very important, especially since your dealing with wiring.) Your rear wheel has a bend it btw...Happy Wrenching
