What is the best oil filter?

    Good stuff in general but much is dated and geared toward cruisers.

    I have a new K&N filter waiting to go on for the spring oil change, but I would never tighten it with that nut. I thought that was just to get it off without the hassel of getting wrench in there. If you tighten your oil filter tighter than you can with your hand, you're gonna have a bad time.

    I have always used honda filters and oil. Never had any problems.

    I've alternated which filter I've used - usually based on what's available at the time.

    I understand the value and importance of independent tests where there is no bias, but I'm hard pressed to beleive that the engineers at Honda who design the engines and then slap their own filter on there are putting out an insufficient product. Are there better products? Sure. But I don't think you can go wrong when using OEM parts. Then again, there is that little thing known as a a R/R... Maybe I should shut up.

    They are like oil filters in the regard they both end up in the trash.
