Ok so I stripped my 01 vfr800 interceptor down and took off the rear shock suspension, and I'm replacing it with the 2000 white cbr929 showa shock, and I'm having a guy make a bracket for me at work,so I bought a 10x90 bolt cause I've heard that it's 35mm shorter,so is that true? But when I put that 10x90 up there it doesn't look long enough, anyone got measurements on how they did there's and size of bolt ect ect, cause I wanna get my baby back on the road.I really appreciate any advice

    See your PM.

Something to note: I do not recommend the extended mounting brackets as you are describing. These can generate a bending moment which could have disastrous results. The spring and damping forces are in the 1000's of pounds so this is not something to take lightly. With the shock conversions that I build I have gone to great lengths to ensure the mounting stays in-line with the load as to not generate these bending moments. This is not possible with an external mount - FYI.

I believe jamie Is correct. But I have considered doing the same thing. I was planning on fitting the largest spacers I could fit in there tightly around the bolt so that the force of bending would be on the spacer rather than the bolt. If I remember right you need about a 110mm bolt

Jamie makes a first rate conversion and worth the money if someone isn't inclined to DIY.

However, I'd be quite curious if there's ever been a known failure to the extended clevis style many have used.

Ok I got the 10x110 bolt and lock nut but could only get it in course thread not fine, so will that matter even with the lock nut? And Jamie I still wanna do the spring setup just without the mod and need to do spring and valve, I'll call you when I'm ready

I would rather use a 1.5 thread but if you use the coarse thread and locknut I would also put some loctite on it too.

I went to an auto parts store and they had some metric starter bolts in that size with the 1.5 thread. Wehave an advance auto around here and they had them on the shelf. Good luck and some pics of your bracket would be interesting.

I found a place called metrics unlimited and they have the 10x110 mm in 1.25 wich is the same as OEM bolt so I should have them by Tuesday, and the guy is doing the same setup as yours tinkerinwstuff, that way it's 1 solid peice, so Bracket and 2 bros exhaust and paint job this week and she'll finally be done, I'm thinking of selling the Yoshimura exhaust for the pc3 USB so I'll be done next week, I'll upload pics after paintjob
