Has anyone tried to install the European Headlight switch that is part of the handlebar R/H switch ? I am used to the BMWs and most can be be converted by simply ordering the European switch - it is more or less a plug and play. I am not quite sure it is as simple on the VFR. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

What exactly does it do? Switch the headlight on and off?

I got one from Austria, it works, turns head lights off. The euro-bikes have a different sub-wiring harness. My running lights stay on as does the rear light, regardless of the position of the on/off switch. Its a cool addition as my old switch gear looked a little sun-faded, if you want to get the rear light to go off, your going to have to delve into the wiring harness along with a test light or dmm.

Thanks - I would like to try to wire this in as designed for European bikes. I have a Honda workshop manual with a wiring diagram - unfortunately, it only has the US model wiring diagram. I am pretty good at wiring, but it would be helpful to know if anyone has a European model wiring diagram or has properly spliced this into a US model.

Its a two beer job! Its plug and play, remove windscreen, mirrors and a few screws from inner cowl, there resides all the plugs for the Gen 3/4 bike (dont know about other ones) simply un-plug the two old plugs and re-plug new Euro-Trash ones.

The thing that takes the most time is re-routing / installing the throttle calbles, and thats it! An hour or so, just take your time. I got mine from Ebay Austria and had to pay for it with Euros as the seller wouldnt take Paypal. I also had to have it shipped to someone in Germany, as the seller wouldnt mail it to the states. So, it is a bit of an adventure story

I am not concerned about installing the new switch - it is wiring it up correctly so it works is the challenge...

I finally received my light switches from David Silver Spares in the UK. Purchased both the L/H and R/H switches and the Parking light housing for the headlight. I also managed to get a Europen Model wiring diagram from the guys over on the VFR Discussion Board - so now I can make adjustments to the wiring harness with minimal gues work.

I am also going to do an H4 Conversion - thinking about going with these rings from California Sport Touring - does anyone have any experience with these?
