ABS on '99 VFR?

Hey Guys,

I have a general question. The person who I bought the bike from said it had ABS ( I was sure he was referring to his linked braking, but he was insistant).

I have been looking over the bike but I cannot see any tell tale signs. My questions are:

1. Were '99 VFRs availabel with ABS when new?

2. If so, any telltale signs on the bike visible now?

I have a '99...no ABS...don't believe it was available.
I'm 99.9% sure

 

That's a good question ...It may not have been an option...mmmmI think was only on newer ...??

Rumblefish is right.

99 VFRs have linked brakes, but not ABS. ABS was not offered as an option until the Gen 6 (Vtec) VFRs came out in 2002.
