I have fitted carbon fibre look blinkers front and rear but they are blinking too fast. They have 10 watt globes in them. I can't remember what I did with the original units so I'm not sure what wattage they were. I would assume 18 watts or something like that so if anything I would have thought these would blink slower Any thoughts?

Ok 35 views and not a response, obviously the flasher on these is electronic, anybody fitted a bi-metal flasher can to these

It would be nice to know what year and bike you have. Then you might get some help. Are they 12v bulbs?

I never even knew you could check the amount of views on a thread, imagine that!

I got the original Mick Doohan skid lid if that helps, probably needs and equalizer wired into the blinker circuit...thats my two cents...Its summer time down uda right?

I went to 7w bulbs on the rear of my DR and they flash faster.

LEDs on the front of the VFR and it flashes fast too but don't know the wattage.

I used to know what size resistor to wire in but don't remember. Personally, I like the faster flashing and think it's more noticeable in traffic. just my opinion. I was warned it would be harder on bulbs and may cause me to go through them more often. One season done so far and haven't lost one yet.

As for the number of thread views.... I wonder if the Google, Yahoo, Bing spiders adds to the view count or not...

you use a timed relay for the flasher, lower wattage = lower resistance = faster flash. My VFR uses a solidstate flasher now (home brew) but the old one was a simple 2-wire relay that I could never get to flash the right speed, these are very voltage dependant. 1/2 volt either way changes the duration. My suggestion is get some 15w and 20w bulbs, and test. you must change both front and rear as these are part of the equation used. if you need an inbetween rate then use one of each and test. Or if your conversant with electronics you could make your own too.

Thanks again, fast flash is probably not a bad idea, but as for swapping globes, these are orange bulbs so not so easy but thanks for the thoughts. I didn't think bimg bots would want to know about my blinker probs:biggrin:

LED Flasher Relay Elfr 1 Fast Blinker Fix Connect | eBay

these work great on my 2003 vfr800. and most hondas use the same connector.

there is a mechanical relay that will do the same thing for about 6.99 at the local parts store but for the ease of use just pay the 23$ and get the digital one.

yes its plug and play on the vfr.
