Hi guys new to the forum picked up my brand new to me 97 VFR750 in may, used the forum to pick up modd ideas
so i thought id join and show/tell the fruits of my labor.
I had started out by cutting and gutting the stock exhaust, cost 25$ four jets plus s/h. sounded great ran it for a month or two then i came across the cbr1000rr exhaust modd and well you know us good ole boys had to have it ;).
I picked up a used stock exhaust from a 2005 cbr1000rr for 30$ flex pipe from vato zone or orileys and misc dom tubing,
I removed the flange from the gutted vfr can and attached it to the flex pipe via welder brazer. Then cut 80-90% of the flange conecting to the header take a !!!!!rubber!!! malot and massage the flange 75-90 degrees, measure remeasure
the flex pipe and how ur routing it to the exhaust, once ur sure weld in with dom tubing the gap that bending the flange up has created.U will sacrafice ur rear luggage space as well as need to mod a new battery case for mine i chopped the battery case free and ditched the rest. then added thermal coated sheet metal under the seat. For the angle increase of the seat because you will need to raise the rear swing arm and re mount i opted to chop the front seat totally out and making
a flush mount seat with hi dens foam 1 in and 2 in memory foam compressed to 1 in,covered in black vinaly, and for the rear i cut two in at 74degrees to realign the angles then recovered it in red to mimic the seat cowl that will no longer fit.I'm 5'10 and I'm flat footed at the stoplight.Oh last but not least as i had stated you will have to readjust the swing arm
for me i removed the bolts and maid a slide link for adjustment the cut the rear fairing tips to expose the rear head, added bonus heater durring winter sad part also a heater during summer but ill deal it looks ,sounds, and drive sweet !!!!!Thanks for the ideas. Cris

Nice workmanship on your part, but the rear looks to be a little too high and somewhat strange.

Welcome to the forums. Good job on the under mount exhaust. Looks pretty? Any heat issues with the plastics?

yes the angle did seem strange at first and was actually higher but f that was all my wrist had to say,so i made the bracket which only moves it half an inch on the lower swing arm mount, that half an inch at the mount =2-3 inches at the tip of the rear P.T.A .It was that or smash the rear exhaust....... Again :( yes i tried it and failed ego was very brused!! plus nice big dent in the exhaust.. I got used to this look real qiuck ;) As for the paint, The ceramic coat makes it hand holdable at running temp, V.H.T for the win as the color dose not fade with heat and cure it correctly. No sir i dont have any heat issuses save for cutting the fairing and now i have engine bay heat between the legs ,not horrible durring summer great when its cold.

both of the clips dont come close to doing the notes justice but thats the best the i phone can do , i would put it 5-8% quieter than the
stuby gutted exhaust with more of a deep note than the gutted ones raspy ford note imo
    .

Was the shot of grandpa sitting on an old-person scooter picking his nose staged or spontaneous?

Baby got back. I was dreading that I was gonna be staring at a "butthole" :ass: single exhaust port, but thank the lord that put the CBR1000 exhaust on there to balance it. Lord knows I don't wanna look at your butthole riding behind you....
