Has anyone tried this? I know the shock lengths are different. I need a cheepy to get me by for a few weeks before I can order one from Jamie. Any ides if I can bolt one up without to much difficulty? Again, just like post says trying to figure out if I can use the 87 vfr 700 shock on my 86 vfr 700. Thanks

The 87 shock is 10mm longer than the 86. It will work just fine on the 86 model. When I build shocks for the VFR700's with F2 wheels I increase the shock length by 10mm to compensate for the smaller OD wheel/tire combination.

Other than length, there is no difference between the 86 and 87 stock shocks.
