2004 Red OEM pannier on a 2005 Red VFR

meh. Maybe they're not now that you mention it. It's the same color wheel on the red '07s too.

 

I received the Panniers and the top box yesterday. Like everyone else said, the colors are very different. The Italian red has a maroon tint(more like cherry color).
I will start the installation tomorrow.

Question for anyone who has fitted top box and the side cases - Does the top box rack goes first in to the place where the grab rails are or the pannier racks go first?

 

Yay. I installed the panniers and top box. It was a bitch getting everything aligned(partly because lack of mechanical experience on my end), but everything is in place now(I think ).

The difference between italian red and winning red is pretty obvious, but once the panniers are on the bike, it is not that distinctive. I have already used the panniers once(to get my lunch) and it felt good not to carry my backpack.. I will post some pictures tomorrow..

Thanks everyone for the advice and special thanks to outboard John for the advice to purchase the metric rachet drive hex bits. It did wonders for me...
