Hey guys....I'm having a small issue with my new 07. It came with Throttlemeisters, and uninstalled Oxford Heaterz grips. I put the Oxfords on this weekend, but now the T'meisters won't work right. I'm going back & forth with T'meister, and their initial email said they only work with OEM heated grips. Damn.

He just asked if the bike originally came with internal or external bar end weights. I'm assuming external ones (just like the T'meisters, though smaller, like pretty much every bike these days), but it's a guess since I recently bought the bike, and it only came with the T'meisters. Was my guess correct?

His thinking is that I'm missing a few parts. I have the right side weight, and a few small washers. Maybe this is fixable after all?

    Well sort of Greg.

The 6th gen. bikes do have external bar end weights but they also have internal bar weights as well.

The Throttlemeister is made by Marker Machine, which is a small machine shop that's located about 2 miles away from where I live.

I actually took my bike down to their shop and had them install one on my '03. As I recall they had to remove the internal bar weight in the right clip-on to install the Throttlemeister.

I have a gen 6 that I have installed Heli bars and a Throttle Meister, then added internal bar/grip heaters from polyheaters.com. All work great. This is the second bike that I have installed this brand of grip heaters on. They are inexpensive, get plenty warm (sometimes too much) allow you to use and change whatever grips you like. You drill a small hole in your handle bar for the wires to enter through, so you can position this hole so that you can make the wire virtually invisible. Maybe something for you to look at.

Sweet I like the look of those & they save having a cable exiting your grips ! Excellent idea & having used snowmobile heated grips on a trip to Vermont I know how hot they can get :) Never seen anything like that in the UK, so have asked if they will ship to UK.

Just talked to Fred @ T'meister. He says that since I can physically mount the weight on the throttle side already, the internal weight must already be out of the bar (their supplied bolt won't fit the internal weight.) You're right though....the internal bar has to come out. So, he's sending the missing friction sleeve and some other hardware to see if that helps. I'll post results.
