Sorry to say this but you have likely cooked that battery--2 amps x 9 hours is 18 amp-hours...what is the capacity of the battery, 10 or 12 A-Hr? Oops...

I don't understand this, but I will read up on batteries later. I did notice that the motorcycle battery I charged last night had the teeth marks melted into the connectors by the jumper cables I used from my car battery. Amazing really the power those things have.

I am lucky nothing popper, smoldered, exploded, etc...it was unintentional ignorance. I won't do that again.

However, when I put the battery into the motorcycle, she started right up without any hesitation...at 36deg F too! Fella's, it was like she missed me :smile:

I will ride it to work tomorrow, then school afterwards, and then home again. I hope the battery held the charge and it isn't cooked. If it is, I will charge the original battery at a slower rate. Although I don't have the charge manual, or any instructions to go by. That's why I'll read about the dangers and correct way to charge a motorcycle battery.

Thank you for your help! What a wonderful resource I have become a part of. Maybe, in a few years when I have enough DIY motorcycle experience, I can help someone else.
