Going to replace tires soon, and was looking at options for raising the front end a bit. Standard seems to be using a jack and wood block under the header pipes, but was discussing alternatives with son and he had an idea, which I tried:

suitable weight, ratchet cargo strap over the back of the seat, crank to lift the front. I'd use a little heavier weight when taking the wheel off, but it does work. I'm thinking put the axle back in and set a jack under it once the front wheel is off.

you bet. I've had the wife sit on the back while on the center stand in order to raise the front if I just needed to do something with it quick.

Been going it like that for years. Works fine for just removing front wheel or tear downs.
