Hello! I'm new to the forum!
I have always wanted and know have the resources to buy an RC30. I would prefer a 49 state low milage (less than 5k) bike. Any bikes for sale or leads would be appreciated.
    Regards,

Those are few and far between but I'm sure you can find one somewhere for a "premium". I haven't seen one for sale in a quite a while. You can always post up in Classifieds with a WTB notice (Want To Buy) and see if anyone has one for sale. Good Luck.

There seems to be a different RC30 every week on the 'Rare Sportbikes For Sale' site that scubalong posted.

Good, low-mile RC30's are commanding mid to high $30k money now.

You don't give us much to go on, but small things make the difference between a spectacular RC30 and a middling one. Check out all of these links...

Have you done your research on this bike??

Yah I'm with Toe on that!
I've been lusting for one of these since 1987 or there abouts. We had a Honda dealership back then but ther ewas no chance of getting one. I figured that some day it could be possible, boy I was wrong.

Funny how you always want what ya just can't have!

Hey, you must keep us posted on your progress as we can then live vicariously through your experiences!

    Context, Toe, context.

So - your never gonna own one? Or your never gonna cut your balls off with said spork?

And to the OP: good for you, man, and good luck in the search.

I will never be fortunate enough to have the opportunity to own one nor the opportunity take said spork to my satchel to obtain one.

    Color me underimpressed ! :behindsofa:

Aesthetics and history aside, any new-to-10 year old CBR 1000RR, CBR600RR, R1, R6, or any 600 or larger Ninja is a better motorcycle in every way.......! Tests listed hp at about 118, not sure whether at crank or wheel.

The RC30s that are ex-race are mostly worn and tired, multiple-crashed, beaten near death, missing original body panels; and the street versions never had the tastey HRC kits that made the bike's racetrack reputation and sucessive world championships.

what sort of premium modern tires can be found for the 18" rear ???

C'mon squirrel? Are all forms of history lost on you? is there no appreciation for "old school" items? I mean, if we use that logic on everything, then you need to change your name to Ferretman. Because we all know that Ferrets are the new squirrels and are much more evolved. Why waste your time with a squirrel when you can have a ferret!

This ain't about performance.............why would I want the latest and greatest anyway, I'm certainly not functioning at the cutting edge. I almost got one about six years ago on e-bay. It needed work and was a few states away but I ran the auction up to $7k and gave up. It sold for just under $8K and I was sad.

In fact I think my next VFR may be a 5th gen, just so I can hear them cams a spinning. Ah who knows but for me, the desire to have an RC30 goes way back. It is unfinished business that will remain on my bucket list till it has been satisfied. Is it worth it $$$$$$? As soon as I can figure out how measure satisfaction in dollars and cents (just dollars now since the penny is no longer) I will let you know.

OK now I must appologize as I'm way off topic, sorry OP!
Items that are also on the bucket list include,

    NR750
    RG500 Gama
    Ducati 998 (Baylis)
    Super Tenere
    MV Agusta F4
Audi UR Quattro and S2 either would do
and a handfull of old rare race sleds

Evolution, of course, and i do appreciate exotics in pets, cars, or bikes. I'm planning, in fact, to possibly adopt a juvenile prairie dog maybe soon to study for my advanced degree in squirrel linguistics and socialology. fs_6996.jpg fs_6984.jpg

gotta ask, if you had an RC30..........what kinda riding would it do or just as a museum piece, one or 2 bike shows ?? A slightly modded gen4 VFR probably does 95% of the VFRR, @ just about $35,000 le$$ and more practically. I wish i had the MONEY to buy that RC30........sitting in the bank while i ride my '97 with few worries and that i can get parts for and no need to ever go faster. Wouldn't rolling around on a ~$35,000 fancy bit of machinery always be a worry ?>? Preserving a piece of motoring history is worth whatever it costs to that one collector.
