buy the $150 mint condition panel on ebay and sell your lightly rashed panel for $75.

You're back in like new condition for $75.

Welcome, Hold on just a minute! Sorry to see you dropped it. Mine fell over in the driveway with 600 miles on it. I didn't see the crack I put the right leg of the center stand on. I had my jacket over the seat and the saddle bags were installed. Jacket and bags took the brunt of the damage. No damage to rest of bike. ATGATT is good for the bike Too!

DON'T DO A THING!!!! VFR's are heavy. Get used to this bike first! You can fix it anytime!!! You would hate to have it all fixed and drop it again.

If I get a vote, ride it for a while and then fix it. I know it hurts to see, but you can muscle through it!

I am kinda taking it easy for now since I cannot do much anyways (sprained ankle).....I will order the frame slider on line and wait for it to come.

I am split between R&G (dont really wanna spend $225) and Motivation $80 + the pain of cutting and sealing the coolant bottle.

Once I am done with the frame slider mod, I am hunting for a cheap fairing fix.

Any suggestions on the scratched cover above rear break lever.

sliders wont save this bike from damage. I would put the $$ into repairs and just learn to not drop it. 6th gens have a different way to put them on the centerstand that takes time to get used to. simply use your foot to hold the stand down, make sure both feet touch the ground/floor and rock the bike back while lifting on the rear peg support member and it will go right on to it. As I said its different, but easy and the book doesnt describe this well.

if you want good fairing protection either full crash bars like what japan puts on their MC cops bikes or run naked. and put a set of hard bags on the back to protect that end.

I wonder if Seb is still doing the clear cover mods? Hardly cheap but oh so sexy!

Before you replace anything and once your ankle heals, practice putting it up on it's center stand then practice again, again, again,,,,.
It is a tricky maneuver, for sure, with such a heavy bike. Method taught to me by a veteran VFR owner: stand on left side of bike, turn handle bar
to full left, hold left hand on left handle bar, right hand on left rear grab handle, right foot on center stand tang, while pushing foot down pull up and back and towards your body in a fast 'n forceful motion. If it tends to fall, it will be toward your body which can hopefully be thwarted.
    Hope this helps.

He is actually only doing them in runs of 10. Over at VFRD, someone started a thread looking for takers. There was only one as of last week, the guy who started the thread. I think Seb wants $250.00 & the donor part. I just did a search over there but I couldn't find the thread.

Not that I am admitting that I know these things, but I wouldn't paint or fix this until you have had the bike for a while. You just may drop it again. A complete paint job for tank and plastics on a 6th gen, with pearl paint, in Canada is $1300.00 with some repairs to scratches only. Get the drops out of you system before you fix. Repair only what you need to until then.
