Hi all, I want to introduce myself and say thank you in advance for all the answers i'm going to get from you all in the future.

I am new to the motorcycle world, did some dirt track riding when I was little but then stuck to the cages from then on out. It's been on my list of things to do for the past few years to get my M class license, and 3 months ago I did it.
MSF classes are the best things ever. At that point in my life my buddy gave me his XJ600 SECA II to ride it till i was done with it but it needed close to 2.5K to get road worthy, (I was riding on crap forks brakes and bad tires ... in the rain, learned a lot about riding at that point)

Since then I've been looking for a new bike and i've been scouring Craigslist and ebay and sites like that because I really want a bike.

I saw a VFR online a few months ago and fell in love with it the 5th gen is what I fell in love with but then I saw some 3rd/4th gen's that were closer to my price range.

I love the concept of the bike, nice "torquey" motor with a nice red line. and I really wanted something sporty with a standard riding position, and the VFR does it. I like to call it a gentlemen's sport bike. enough power to run with the cocky kids and comfortable enough for long distance rides, and a lot better on gas then my old Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.

So my buddy who buys and fixes bikes as a hobby and really as a job has a 92 VFR750 with new tires a full exhaust and k&n air filters, and the price is real nice he is going to clean the carbs and seafoam the engine because she does have some miles on her 45K but she starts and runs, and for the price I cannot complain. I will post pictures when I get her after the new year, I'm so excited.

So thank you for the place to collect information and I will be asking all kinds of questions i'm sure.

this is the pic I snapped of her the other day, bike is black but the original owner dented the tank and bought a new white one. Its a California Bike so lots of emissions components (which would love to know what to remove)

the guy who is working on it has all the plastic and all the fairings he said it should pass PA inspection with nothing but making sure the bulbs are good. like i said he is cleaning the upper portion of the carbs this week and is waiting on a choke plunger.

    Need more close ups! :worthless:

She is a Frank-en-Stien huh? you got a 93 gas tank with 92 body work? Its all good, I rode mine with miss-matched palstic for years. I adventually got access to a good bike painter down here and have no regrets, that was 7 years ago. If you decide to make it one colour, me thinks you gota go with the 92 granite blue colour, thats just my two cents though. Great Choice on riding steeds though, nothing sounds as good and has such a sweet aluminum frame as the gen 3 bikes. Cheers Velcome aboard

Yeah apparently the previous owner before he sold it was cleaning it up and the tank had rusted so he got a new tank so i have a white tank and black plastics. I do like the granite blue but all of my gear is white so I might mock up a custom paint scheme, but that will be a few years down the road and I am sure I will have newer and better gear then anyway.

Far out! Flat black helmet is like what they say about a womans little cocktail dress, its always appropriate.

I used to ride in various coloured gear, up north I used to have a red two piece areostich suit that I wore the crap out of. Wore that on a black, and two red motorcycles. Moved here and adventually got the High-Viz one piece areostich which is good since every one down here sucks arse as a driver...

Black leather always look good no-matter what colour your ride is too  Happy Riding

So a minor set back, apparently the part that was ordered was a 4th gen choke valve and not a third gen, so it didn't fit, or something like that so another week or so wait, sorry guys I really want to show it off, guess good things must wait.

Welcome to the site, you can probably find several oem parts on the web. Bikebandit.com works well, and you can always use ebay.

Look at Direct Line Parts - OEM Honda parts discounted. They list the "choke plungers" as "Valve Set, Starter" and different part numbers depending on which year carb it is needed for. Verify which part number you need to replace. Good luck and careful of ice when you ride - it is winter up here in the Northeast!
