i got absolutely no where trying to make my own switch. they would all work for a few shifts and then snap off. but then i found this on ebay:

IJR Quickshifter for Power Commander III USB CBR R1 R6 GSXR ZX6 ZX10 RR | eBay

i just installed it today. it was a little more involved than i thought it would be. you have to grind off the toe of the shift lever, and then drill a hole through it (roughly the same diameter of the toe you just cut off) for the new toe to bolt up to.

everything on it seems of good quality (except the pc 10 pin connector was a size big). though the design and action is a little crude, but it is the best option so far (besides dropping 600 on sato rear sets and dyno jet shift rods)

but most importantly, it does work. it is a little rough at times, but seems as though it gets smoother as your learning curve increases.
ill try and get all the install pics up soon.

side note. when you nail all the shifts at redline and wide open correctly it is insanely scary/fast, picking up speed at an alarming rate.

    Nice!

Looks like a decent set up. How much are you into the quick shift kit for (if you dont mind me asking)?

I'd love to see a video of the tach and spedo when your going through the gears at redline.

Honestly I probably wasted like a hundred dollar on various switches buttons epoxies mounts etc, before I found this shifter. But I picked up the shifter for $49. So my my lose is you guys gain. Because this shifter and a power commander is all you need. Well and a hack saw, drill and zip ties lol.

Okay I'm gonna take it on a trip from Orlando to Naples and back. I'll let you all know if it holds up. If it does I'll borrow my buddies go pro and make a squid video for you guys, so I can get yelled at by all the older members lol.

Why don't you just practice and learn how to really speed/power shift a bike. It's not that hard to do.

whats speed/power shifting? i have no idea how to do that. that sounds really complicated. ive been going to the track for years now and have never heard of this or bothered to learn this fancy squid shifting you speak of? but if youre saying that its better than automated fuel cut, im sure it can be accomplished in under 45 miliseconds right?

Just a heads up guys. I have the shift kill time set to 100 milliseconds and she is running flawlessly. It is butter smooth and feels factory fresh right now. It seems like there is an error in the pc programming it it doesn't function properly with times approaching 250 miliseconds. So to reiderate, that shifter toe plugged in to the pc3, set to 100 milliseconds, works fucking amazing.
    You're welcome guys.

It's not a good video yet. Just the bike on the centerstand running through the gears. When my friend with a go pro gets back into town, I'll make a real video.

Is there a big lots near you? If so you can get a camera to mount on your helmet for $30.00. Or at least the one by my house in LA has one on the shelf....

Well got a little work done a couple of weekends ago & just got round to writing this. Poor pic below, not finished the install yet, but had a look at the options & bought a PTT (Press To Talk) remote switch for a radio system. Made an alloy bracket to hold it & shaped the switch surround to fit around my grips & out of the way of the horn.
Not tried it yet as the bike is still being worked on, but here's a pic of the button.

After reading this thread I chose to attempt this mod as well on my '07. The "quickshifter" itself was $75 on Ebay, so not as cheap as was had before. I got my surrogate shift lever from a wrecked 5th gen. I noticed that the pinch bolt is slightly different between this lever and the stock one, but it works in the same fashion (just a different hex on top I believe).

The install is super easy and programming the PC3 couldn't be much easier. All told it took me less than an hour from opening the packages of parts to a ready to run bike.

I have it set currently at 4800rpm and 85ms. I think this could use some fine tuning just for my tastes. I only plan on using it when i'm goofing off, so I may be inclined to increase the minimum to 7000rpm or so.

I forgot to update this thread, got mine set to 4k/rpm & 100ms, works fine. Not really had much chance to play with it, but will do soon.
