Check out my post on electrics page ref bike cutting out. I don,t know if the info will help you. If not take the bike to a dealer and they can check out the electronic Fi box. If you have a Haynes manual it has a good section on investigating Fi problems. All the best

Look under the seat and see if the is a Power Commander installed if so take it in and have it remapped. My bike did the same thing when I put a Power Commander on it once it was mapped correctly I am now at 102 rear wheel horse

I upgraded from a 86 Vfr to a 99 vfr, I bought mine from the original owner, took a trip over the summer and I ride mine daily as my primary transportation, my FI indicator came on in a series of flashes, then went solid, now it only comes on at highway speeds and this is the kicker when I come to a stop and put the kickstand down it goes off and stays off until l'm on the highway again. I can't get it to stay on from a cold start or at rest because the second I drop the kickstand or shut the bike off it goes out, so I don't have a way to tell what might be causing it. It runs fine, no funny smells, no drop in mileage, no sign of any mechanical problems, I got new shoes, oil change, etc today, my mechanic even took my tank off to do an inspection to see if I had something visible, a pinched line or something and we couldn't find a thing. I pay attention to everything my bike does since I depend on it so much and my fix it before it breaks radar is finding this red light very annoying. I must mention my bike is a California bike also, so yea I got all the extra emissions stuff. Any help would be appreciated the 99 model is new to me, I know the 86 by heart.

Have you checked to see if there is a fuel pressure sensor and tested?

I haven't got to it yet but I was directed to the FI post here on the forums and that gave me a lead, going to reset my Codes and see if it pops me a new set, I have confirmed it only comes on during high speeds.
