So as some of you know I'm looking at buying a 92 VFR in the next two or three weeks. the bike i'm looking at is a California Model (I live in PA) and has 45K miles.

is there a guide somewhere on the compents that make it a California model (all the emmissions stuff) so that if i ever wanted to remove it I could?

also does the gen 4 motor work in the gen 3 bike thinking about the future and stocking up on back up parts so that in the event that something happens I can swap it and fix it while still having something to ride.

Where could I find a solo seat cowel, the bike I;m getting doesn't have one, was lost somewhere in the last 20 years.

    thanks in advance

You'll get the seat cowl right after me. I've been searching for 3 years.

i want to say the California has softer cams and leaner jetting. theres no cats until 2000, but probably an evap canister and maybe pair valves.
i think the 3rd and fourth gens are really similiar, as the exhausts are interchangable, but the 3rd gens are tuned a little harder with 36mm carbs vs the 4th gens 34mm. but i have a vtec so everything i just said should be taken with a grain of salt. lol

Different mounting setup so gen4 engine won't go into gen3 chassis i believe.
