Hello guys Nevo here from Essex

Passed my full motorcycle test last week and just about to take delivery of my lovely 2002 VTEC viffer! tomorrow infact! and I cant wait - chopped in my Varadero 125 on Tuesday and I've been chomping at the bit ever since!

Been riding on 'L' plates since doing my CBT in April this year and I've gotten quite a bit of experience in that time. Now I've passed my full licence I need something bigger. Saw the viffer in the local dealer couldn't resist - it was the right bike, right colour and the right time! 15000 miles though, so close to its dreaded major service BUT the dealer said they'd do it prior to me picking it up! result! money and a sale made!

So tomorrow I pick her up and hopefully there will be a break in the rain just long enough for me to get to know my new mistress!

    Nevo

The wife and I were over your way a year ago last summer. I remember the first thought I had while I was bus touring around was "I need my bike" You live in a gorgeous area my friend. Great although violent history. Fabulous architecture and scenery. Welcome to the site. Unfortunately we don't have right hand drive bikes over here.

Nevo - congratulations and welcome to the madhouse from the snowy alps.

The VFR will be a great choice as your first big bike. Winter is often a great time for deals and it sounds like you have found a helpful dealer.

If the weather in the UK is anything like here, then may want to hold off riding until a clear day. If you take your time on your first few rides, until you really get to know how it handles, you will be fine. Some find the vtec transition a bit abrupt and the boost of extra power can be unsettling especially if it happens filtering through traffic. So in traffic its a good idea to plan your gear changes to stay either below or above the transition. You will soon get used to it, and the banzai accelleration it unleashes will bring a huge grin.

When you get a chance post up some pictures.

Welcome abaord and conrats!! Don't waste your time with the 16k valve check. It is expensive and everyone I know who has had the check done has reported that the valve clearance were within spec. It's my opinion that unless you have noticeable performance issues you can wait until 32k miles for the valve check.

    Cheers for the welcomes guys,

Rollin_Again - I didnt need to worry or pay for the 16K service it was done before I took delivery

After a good while waiting at the dealers - issue with the alarm - I finally got her home but it was too dark to take any decent pictures even with the garage light on! so pics will come tomorrow after a good 'get-to-know-her' ride  One thing I did notice coming back from dealers - its a whole different world to a 125! cant wait for a proper blast
