As a new owner of a '10 / manual trans, I wanted to say hello. Just brought the VFR home for good last week. I wrote up a review of the bike after a 60-mile testride that appears here: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=846526...If anyone cares to read the ramblings of a guy who hasn't owned a Honda since my '80 CB900...nearly 20 years ago. Although I've put scarcely 200 miles on the clock, I'm really enjoying the bike so far. Been a BMW owner for the better part of the last 10 years, including most recently - a K1300S. Aside from the suspension, which I think needs some work, I haven't been missing the K - which is saying a lot, because I LOVED that bike.
:welcome: to the madness Glad to have you here, make yourself like at home. I will check the link out, never been to ADV (Hope Reg is not looking) ound: I think you will like the VFR1200 better than the Beember especially your wallet.
Welcome to the Madhouse. What area of Illinois? I saw a red 7th. gen at Full Moon a few weeks ago. Was that you?
I'm in the east-central part of the state in Marshall. Right off of I-70 about 20 miles west of Terre Haute, IN. Wasn't me at Full Moon - just had it a few days so far!
Apology is not need it. we are a bunch of clown, I was just kidding. Great ride up.........BTW I use to live in Terre Haute my oldest son born in Terre Haute.
Thanks! And you may recognize that last picture in my ride report then - it's at Thompson's Powersports, just south of the mall on third street.
Yup I thought I recognized the store.........Enjoy your stay, there are several thread regarding the 7th Gen. you might want to read.
We are not all mad here. But Maggot and Scubalong may verywell be our maddest. Welcome to the site. You will enjoy the comradery. Or you will run away.
Thanks for the kind words. I have to say, though, that any value in my photos came from the lighting and the bike...and not from the photographer (me) or the camera (iPhone). I was totally ambivalent about the looks, but after spending some time with it, I've really grown to love the look. Riding it helps considerably too. Never bought a bike for the paint - including this one - but no denying it's nice. Even the black in the tank center. Here's an accidental (I cropped it from a large pic) artsy shot before my tank slapper plastic goes on...
