So have posted pics of my bike when I bought it. Had always planned to "streetfighter" it out. So here are just some progress pics.

SO here's she is when I bought it! Beautiful oem scheme, but baaaaad paint job (except the white pearl parts) The blues and reds where spray painted on  Running like a champ!!!

Then I stripped the front cowling off. I'll admit, I do like the original look of the bike but I thought I liked this waaay better. Sorry Fanboys!

Then time for new paint. Stripped old decals and paint... IT was a VERY hard decision to not stick with the OEM paint scheme. But I may go back to it later lol

This is how she sits now...

I will be painting the front fender as well, just ran outta time. MAYBE gonna chop the seat like a true fighter...but still debating that.

Anyone know what work is entailed with changing the exhuasts?

    Cheers,

    Chris

    Exhaust Change

It is very easy to change exhaust systems, but very hard to find an exhaust system to change to! You'd need to make a custom one up. I have seen people take other slip-on systems and then cut or weld a piece to make the length correct. I have also seen people take a stock system from another bike, and make it work on a different bike. You can also go the used route. I am very surprised that nobody still offers a pair of slip-ons for this bike. Back in the day, there were probably 15 or 20 different companies making pipes for this model.

I'm not a fan of the naked look but I would chop the rear end. That seems to be the look on most of them. Maybe a solo seat with a stock looking tailight section just pushed up closer to the tank. Good luck

Try these guys for an aftermarket exhaust. Ontario Cycle Salvage, 1570 Kingston Rd Toronto Ont.
416-699-6198. I talked to them a couple of months ago and they said they had a system, but
were not sure what it was. I would have gone to get it, but I got a call about a complete Yoshi
    setup which I jumped on.

Please keep us uptodate. I want to do this to a later model so am keen to see your progress.

I love the original looks of the VFR's but prefer the handling of naked bikes on the street. Also figure loosing the fairing will give me some good weight saving.

Rocking up to a group ride here is Brissy on a custom naked with that sweet V4 and gearing sound would be awesome :)

Well the last time he was on the forum was the day he posted this thread, so I'd say you're not going to get much of a reply. :/
