so this was a low-sided bike i bought not too long ago. after planing on making it shiny again ive found some issues that needed attention, broken seat latch, tail light held on by zip ties, tweaked sub-frame...list goes on.

the pic is as the bike sits now, i have new front blinkers and tail light, used good stock seat, used less damaged subframe, and a host of other things ready to go. ive bean addressing the paint issue, it was worse then i had hoped. i am deciding rather to do an entire respray or salvage what i can and patch and re-clear. either way i will add pics and descriptions of the process, it is something that can be done in a garage on the cheap, but come out looking good.

I have wanted to take a 6gen and put 5th gen bodywork on the front.

That one looks like a good candidate for such a project if you're interested in doing it.

im shocked at how easy this bike is to work on. the full fairings, tnak, and subframe ripped off and might have 2 or so hours in it. the worst part is the tank, WTF is up with that? a friggin BANJO bolt SERIOUSLY!?! and a fully open return line. but other then that nothing major.

well im still about 70% sure i am going to sell it after i get it repaired so it is going to end up a bone stock refresh. if it wasnt the holiday season i would be putting it back together already instead of just barely getting it apart.

There is a long line of people looking to get their hands on the accountant responsible for that decision.

Seems like an interesting project. I think it will be a great bike for the future(70% owner) owner once it is ready.

im beyond OCD when it comes to stuff i plan on selling too, if it is not factory spec or higher and not a cosmetic item it will not leave my hands. and even the cosmetic stuff needs to not look like it was cobbled together with duct take and zip ties.

Banjo bolts are a common place there, they truely belong in the back woods of Tennesse not under a petrol tank where gas leaks all over your hands and tools!

    Good luck with your project...
