I saw on here that someone took off the air box and somehow mounted four of those little k and n cone shaped automotive valve cover mounted crankcase breathers directly to the intakes. Not sure how he got them to mount up or how much it helped or hurt performance but I'm sure it was quite a bit louder!

yeah i saw that. looks like a lil too open. could be hard on motor plus would need too much fuel compensation

I've seen people make larger intakes and lost HP on a dyno test.

There's no simple solution with this stuff. People who buy sport bikes want fast shit. Honda has lots of resources and engineering staff designing the best product for the money accessible to their target market.

you think if the answer to more power was a bigger hole in the airbox or something similar that Honda wouldn't have just sold it that way?

Custom is the word, whatever you can modify to increase flow would be totally custom- drill holes in the airbox, totally take off the airbox and use K&N podz filters, whatever. There is no custom off the shelf stuff that exists.

Buy a used Yoshi pipe but combined with changes to the intake you will definitely have to change jetting on your carbs to compensate for these changes.

Just yank the rubber boots off the front of the airbox. That will open it up to let a little more air in and make it more obnoxious (louder). Then take it for a run. You will know real quick if you screwed up the air / fuel mixture. Best part... you can put them back on when you realize you were just wasting time.

As far as needing starting fluid. You probably need to adjust the choke cable at the carb end.
