    Hello all,

I figured after a couple months of lurking on here and reading up on these bikes, I figured I'd post mine up. This is my first bike. I was actually going to buy a KTM Duke, but the dealer screwed me over and then this little thing showed up at work. And one thing led to another and I'm hooked.

The tires are pretty dry rotted, so I'm looking into a CBR F2 wheel swap for the radial tires. What do you guys think?

It does look really clean. Be vigilant about the valve checks and you'll be fine. Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Squirrelman, she's got a tick over 17K on her

Toe Cutter, she's not as clean as she looks, she was laid down at some point and completely repainted, plus the front fairing wasn't installed straight, so I've gotta fix that

Stewart, thanks and I will probably do that when I replace the chain and do the wheel swap

Oh and these showed up on my doorstep today.

I really enjoyed my VF500F but found that I was just a bit large for the accommodations. There is something special about the 500 Interceptor.

Jamie, can I just ship you the parts for the wheel conversion? Or do I need to call you first? We've exchanged a few emails.

Figured I may as well update this. Ran into some financial issues right around the 20th last year, so I never got to send my wheels out. The bike has been sitting since then. I did get the case savers on, so that's some good news. Hopefully I'll be able to send off my wheels to Jamie soon.

Just ot clarify: it is only the front wheel that needs modified. The rear wheel only requires different bearings (along with the rest of the swap kit) but no modifications to the wheel itself.

I know what your talking about loving your little 500. A woman turned in front of me and "totaled" mine. Bent the forks, front wheel and rotors. I couldn't bring myself to scrap it so I fixed it. Half the insurance money went into replacement parts, the other half bought gold valves and new springs.

If you think you love your bike now spend some money on the forks like I did. I honestly think that has been the most fun money I've ever spent and I've spent a LOT. There is a triple S curve near my house that I love, I picked up 10mph and a ton more stability through those curves and my chicken strip on the front is only about as wide as two quarters stacked and smaller on the back. My tires have more tread than my pegs allow.

Now if i could just get my money right so I could send this Fox twin clicker to Jammie

I guess I should revive this. I finally sent out my parts to Jamie. Should be getting the stuff for the wheel conversion soon. Also I'll be do doing fork seals and one of the guys I work with is helping me cook up a new exhaust. So a pretty filled couple of weeks.

I've tried several options and I honestly prefer the stock system with shimmed needles to anything I've tried. Slip ons seem to hurt mid range more than they help top end, this 4 into 1 I waited years to find does seem to give a touch more mid and a touch more top end power but it's so freakin loud I don't even enjoy riding the bike with it on it. The little bit of extra power made it fun to begin with but after about a week it got annoying.

Can't go wrong with Jamie. Great guy.

He is, he responded to my email despite being on vacation. Was not expecting that one.

I'm not doing anything to collector box or before, I guess you could say slip ons. I'm going to be getting some stubby cans, I already removed the baffles and I like the sound, its just a little too droney. I've run it without the mufflers, just the collector box, as well. Sounds really cool but it's ridiculously loud. We'll see what happens.

    Another update:

Spoke to Jamie on the phone yesterday, paid for my wheel conversion stuff. Hopefully I'll see that soon.

Received my mufflers in the mail yesterday, should have that finished tomorrow.

    Here's a sneak peek:
