Pretty new blue bags for my RWB

I got Corbin beetles and have them painted blue for my RWB!

Very nice! I really like the color.

 

I took her out for a ride this afternoon, did about 200 miles on a beautiful sunny day!
I like these bags, they fit perfectly and also have absolutely no impact on riding.


However the latches do not latch ... every time I stopped the top doors were unlatched. Any one out there had this problem and found a solution? I installed new latches when I got the bags painted blue.

I've had beetle bags for a long time and love them! I also had the same problem that you are having. The bags opened because the small piece of metal that the latch had to grab was not out far enough to keep it closed. My solution was to add two small spacers behind the metal piece. Haven't had a problem since. If what I have said makes no sense, I would be happy to post pictures. Happy riding!

 

Nice bags! They look much larger than the OEM ones and appear to have been impacted by 26 golf balls in the rear? LOL

Corbin do spend a lot of time shaping the bags to contour to the shape of the bike so they blend in nicely. Surprising that they haven't sorted the latches out with teh same amount of effort. Then again, their seats have similar inconsistencies.

 

Thank you for the suggestion, I added a couple of washers and they seem to close a lot better, I'll let you know when I get to test them out riding.

This is the solution, thank you brdbluz! I went for a ride today, about 220 miles, and the doors did not pop open, thank you again.
