Please Disregard previous posts. I had the bike looked at by a certified Honda tech, he said the motor is perfect. The bike was sitting for a long time and the carb just needed to be cleaned. Glad I had it looked at, I'm obviously not mechanically inclined.

Thanks for the info everyone. The complete bike is for sale now.

they aren't rare or hard to come by, you can still buy them new. They aren't really cheap though, brand new for everything is around $1200 from what i can see off the fiche..........based on that, you decide on what is fair.

Yea WTH you don't hear this one.....engine blown? As far as the cost to the fairings and bits. it is a buyers market . They are expensive new and still able to be had, that and the tank new is around $700 by it's self . So I'd say half price due to shipping will be the deal breaker. LOL where were you 3 years ago? ;)

$800 - $1000 for the complete set seems like a reasonable price to me. The problem is that you will have a limited number of people who want a complete set since they may only be looking for plastics for one side of the bike. I think you may be much better off trying to find a replacement engine since the bike looks to be in good shape otherwise.

Parting it oot does seem like an excessive move for such an easy repair and the engines grow on trees......you can frolic through the VFR orchards in southern California and just pick them willie nillie.

Thanks for the info everyone. The bike belonged to a friend of mine, we're guessing it overheated for too long. I picked it up as-is, and it's just been sitting.

I'm going to post everything in the classified section once I get a list together with prices. Feel free to message me now with any parts you might be interested in.

    Thanks

Just doesn't make much sense to me what you are planning on doing. I think you can replace the engine for $500 or less and keep the bike or sell the bike for $2500 or more. With the xtra money you can buy a cheaper project bike and have some cash left over.

You might want to figure out exactly what is wrong with the motor before jumping to conclusions. You might be better off fixing and selling it rather than parting it out.

I had the bike looked at this afternoon at a Honda service shop here in the Bay Area. The motor is perfect, he said since it was sitting for some time, the carburetor just needed some cleaning and the battery needed a charge. I'm obviously not mechanically inclined lol.

So the bike is now up for sale as a complete bike. I'll be posting an ad soon on here for anybody interested.

The bike is extremely clean and the fairings are all original. Only modifications I've noticed are the corbin seat, 2 brothers exhaust, and it came with a tank cover.

There is a small ding in the tank, but I plan on having it popped out by the time of the sale.

Definitely great news! The bike is located in San Jose, CA 95111. The bike has a clean title and I will have it once DMV sends it to my house, it'll probably take a few weeks.

Just in case anyone still wants to know, a full set of fairings were going to cost me $3600 from honda. I ended up going with airtech.com. They had a set of racing fairings that I bought for $1000 on the dot including shipping. Only downside was that it has no holes or anything cut for lights, but I am using it as an excuse to custom my lights out. I bought Piaa 1100x for headlights, some starburst LED's for turn signals, and a 6" light bar for taillight and rear turn signals. Can't wait to get it all in.
