would you guys really pay extra for abs? personally i wouldnt want it on a bike. but, thats just me. i bouught my rwb just a few months back for 7k. was right at retail but i bought it from a close friend that was the original owner so i know it was perfect as new. no bags or other extras, 3200 miles i think, always stored in a climate controled garage. looked around and saw a couple others for a few dollars less but none near me and shipping plus buying sight unseen... i felt more comfortable dealing with someone i trust and being able to ride her first. plus, howard threw in a pair of rf1100 shoei helmets (bout $450 a piece new) and a nice leather icon overlord jacket that match the bike and almost fit! guess a good deal is when both the person selling and the person buying walk away happy.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that is true. Way back when, there used to be CA only models due to the tougher emmissions.

Oh...not you. I was talking about the guy in the ad that seems oh-so-proud to say he waxed the bike with Chilean Goat Milk wax. Used small circles, first clockwise 42 times, then counter clockwise 42 times. Buffed in the moonlight of a harvest moon by a virgin.

Gimmie a break. Bet he couldn't wait to write that part in the ad. Like it's a selling point or something.

Nice. And thanks. Even if it's not an ABS with bags, it helps me judge the value of the one I'm looking at. Cool.

Looks like I haven't bought a bike in a while, doesn't it? Thanks! Dealer says it's now one bike for all of US and Europe = less re-tooling/more $ for Honda-San.

That. Looks like a deal to me. I personally would not be hung up on finding an ABS model and the bags wouldn't be a deal breaker either. You can always add those later (bags) and you may find that some of the tail bag luggage will suffice for short trips. My Paniers make the bike really wide and I only use them when necessary.

I 2nd That...I have the same RWB non ABS with OEM bags - got it down to $7,000 (sounds good though when it was priced at $7,900 at dealer). It had 20K miles, but the bike is perfect - hear "is that new" all the time. Now I have around 25K on it (had since May this year), and would still ask around $7K for it...but not selling ;). Is it a little high..maybe, but I'm sure I'd get it once someone takes a look at the bike. It has tons of extra's too. It boils down to - what are you willing to pay and/or what deal will you be able to sleep at night with. I can tell you, bring $1K less than the asking price, in cash, and doubt you'll get pushed away ;)!!! Cash in hand always talks and lets the seller know you're serious. If you don't feel 100% WALK AWAY...it's EZ! They will call a day later, and you'll have your bike!
    I hope lol

So wgregt, how close are you with pulling the trigger on this? The indecision is going to kill you. Make him an offer and you'll know very quickly if you're in or out.

    Hmmmm....

Option A has 4k miles, ABS, bags and would need to be shipped 1500 miles (which would add $).

Option B is local (dealer), 16k miles (and has had the full service/valve adjustment with all paperwork), ABS, no bags.

I was wrong on the CA vs. non-CA version thing, so that part is a wash.

The bikes are the same price. I'd then add another $700 or so for shipping the one with 4k miles and bags.

If you plan on adding bags to "Option B" consider that cost as well. An addition $700 for a bike w/ bags & 12k fewer miles is easy math IMO.

+1 on that. I'd go option A. Also, shipping should be right around $600.

High intensity discharge. Bulbs use xenon gas (I think) and run off a transformer. Truthfully they are obnoxiously bright to other drivers but you can sure see like it's daytime at night. Never need the high beams!

Hey gang...looks like I went with Option C. (Esp. since Option A seems to have dropped off the map.)

Got a PM from a member of this very forum about a week ago, with the exact bike I was looking for. And he was local, so no shipping. Saw it, test drove it, bought it. Heck of a nice guy, super knowledgeable, flawless example, very well cared for, lots of extra goodies on it, and more that came in the sale (that I need to post here on the classifieds once I get it sorted out ...no room in the garage for sure now). I'll be selling:

    lowering link kit
SW Moto tank bag ring (no bag, just the VFR-specific tank ring that suspends the bag off the paint
    OEM seat
    upper fairing
    3 aftermarket windscreens
    OEM exhaust
    etc etc

Bike has about 13k, Sargent seat, OEM hard bags, OEM bag liners, Helibars, heated grips, ABS, Throttlemeisters, Vista cruise, PC5, Staintunes, Pazzo (?) adjustable levers, HID lighting, hmmmm....what else.....

Anyhow, I'm pleased, the garage is now chock-full of VFs/VFRs, and I owe a lot to this forum for hooking up a great seller with an appreciable buyer.
