Some of you may have read a recent post I put up asking about ABS on an '07 RWB VFR 800.

    http://vfrworld.com/forums/6th-generation-2002-2009/40370-2007-vfr-800-r-w-b-abs-fill-me.html

I appreciate the responses, and I found one for sale. So....what's it worth? I know...I know " whatever you are willing to pay", though I'm trying to get a realistic price on it. I know what the seller is asking, and I know where my "damn I'm jumping on that NOW" sweet spot is. Just trying to figure out how you guys arrive at prices.

Details: 2007 RWB VFR 800. ABS. OEM hard bags. 4500 miles on it. Good shape. Needs a good washing looks like, but otherwise in good shape.

Kelly Blue Book says $4780 for a trade-in @ a dealership in good condition. $6930 for suggested retail excellent condition when buying it from a dealer. The custom paint (the R/W/B scheme, I suppose) is worth an additional $135, and they have the hard bags as worth $35 (yep...$35) on the bike.

If you have one similar (if you don't have ABS, that's OK too) I'd love to hear what you think yours would be worth in a private sale, or maybe you've seen one around lately for sale as a comparison?

    And thanks, BTW.

Can you post up some pictures of it? That would help. If I were in the market for one and sure wish I were. I would expect to pay around 6500 for one but would hope I could find one in perfect condition with the bags for closer to 5700 or 6000. What I usually do is search craigslist in a lot of different cities and see what people are asking for them.

As you know, mine is exactly the same as what you're looking at minus the ABS. It has 17K miles and is in excellent condition. With the hard cases, I would hope to get $6K to $7K.

The other thing you have to consider is that since you're buying used, what can you compare it against? Unless you can find another used one in the condition you want, you might be stuck paying a little more than you'd like.

As far as fotos....it looks like every other 07 RWB 800 you've ever seen. No dents, scrapes, etc. It needs a little TLC cleaning up with some soap & water, but otherwise I'd call it excellent condition...as it should be with only 4500 miles on it.

So...if yours had ABS, you'd add another....$1k for it? I'm calling the mileage a wash between the two...4500 or 20k makes no difference to me on a VFR really. If so, that puts your asking price around....$8k.

Which is really close (if not spot on) to what Honda was asking for new ones in...'09, was it, when they released that glut of unsold models?

I wouldn't add a grand because that is retail cost. The bike is used and the ABS does add value. I'm guessing, but I'd say maybe $600. With the economy the way it is, why don't you make him an offer that you're comfortable with and let him sit on it for a while. Also, there aren't many people buying bikes this time of year. Oh yeah, you're in CA, ignore that last comment :)

It has 4500 miles on it and the guy is trying to sell it but doesn't have time to clean it up? I would make a low offer.

In Western Canada, with a strong local economy, I see a 2006 without ABS, with only 1400 k.m. on it (875 miles) going for 7000.00 obo. Also a RWB 2007 model, no ABS, with 8000 km, 5000 miles, with Leo Vince pipes, PC3, etc., asking 9000.00. But it has been on Kijiji for a month now, and looks like a lower offer could be given. My limit for a VFR with ABS and factory bags with low mileage would be $8500.00.

This really is a tough question to answer because there are so many variables to consider. If I was looking for another 07 with abs and I found one with pipes, power comander, bags, bar risers, corbin or Sargent seat, tank bra, GPS power plug, high smoked windshield, HID light conversion, VRFness installed and it was spotless with less than 5k miles and a complete maintenance history with all receipts, I would pay top dollar. Probably somewhere near $7500 in the states and closer to 9k up here in Canada. I would remove $$$ for every item missing on that list, especially the documented history. But for you, the seat may not be worth shite so that has no value at all. The point is simply that you need to define what you want and what it is worth to you to get it.There are plenty out there on the market to choose from.

From what I've seen recently, they seem to be anywhere from $5k to $7k and what you have described falls somewhere around the 6 mark as Scuba has said already.

Not really. This RWB ABS with bags (regardless of other farkling) is hard to come by. I have been looking (admittedly, off & on) for a few years now, on ebay, local dealers, nationwide CL, and thru forums. Found really only 1 or 2 like this. And yes, I'm taking that into account with the price as well.

This one has been available for awhile. Non-abs but in the mid 6k range as others have suggested. 25th Ann Interceptor.
    As a comparison I paid $7300 for my 25th non-abs w/ bags. Had 00038 miles on it.

Anyone who will let a bike go dirty will skip maintenance......And with that milage you dont care if the bikes never had a wrench put too it.....

Hey Wgregt----Just looked at Ventura Craigs List and there is one that you should check out ---)# 10,000 miles and LOTS of extras.
Also, SD Craigs List theres 2004-9,000 miles in La Jolla for $5500-- and a 2006 14,000 miles with pipes and Helis for $6200. It took every day on Craigs List for 6 months to find my 2002 -1800 miles for 4,000, if not in a rush dont jump to soon. JMO

Is the one you see in Ventura an '07 RWB? Link? I don't see it on CL. The others are nice, and appreciated, but I'm really looking at the '07 RWB.

What's the real difference between a CA version and a 49 stater? Noticable?

Delaler tells me the 2007 VFR800A was a "50 State Vehicle", meaning there was no difference/separation in a 49 state model and a CA model. That sound right to you guys? Never heard of this before.
