Gorgeous! Read this thread today while at work. Nice nice nice nice job! Hope mine can turn out this well. Question... that whine that was talked about on the first page, is that normal for this bike? Or a sign that something is going wrong?

So, the carpet matches the brake lines. Used to say that about wimmins bushes matching their hair colour too, think that was carpet matching the drapes though. If you dont laugh at that shit, you dont have a pulse. ound:

So Tink what weight sledge will you use to torque the banjo bolts with?

 

Excellent job there Tink, you have a power for creation that I for one am a little envious about. If your son turns out to be half the VFR customizer you are there will be a force in Colorado to be reckoned with.

 

I can understand why you were'nt motivated/excited to install those brake lines. Royal PITA huh, I'll stick with my low-tech braided lines. Bike looks good :madgrin:

Yeah even in the stock location it seems the test connector is a real pain in the pecker to get at, good idea!

 

Well I wish I had seen this when you first started the thread. Thanks to trading away my RC51 for a 2nd 5th gen, I have 3 spare stocks seats and 6 more tail cowls than I can possibly ever use. I could have gotten you going with 5th gen parts for a great price.

Now on the 6th subframe helping with touring, I have to agree, the luggage mounts are in close and contribute to a narrower aft section compared to a 5th gen with Givi's... even if you used the new Givi cases on it instead of the Honda branded bags, IIRC its still narrower than a 5th with e360's.

 

I thought that right off the bat myself.
I stuck in a set of CBR600 stick coils and chopped up the CBR coil harness for the four coil connectors.
Put them in just matching the oem VFR female spades, but since they worked flawlessly for now, I'll solder them in with splice joiners and heat shrink this winter.

 

Not up here it doesn't..
