Evening, all. Been lurking but that's just not very neighborly of me. My co-workers call me Snoopaloop, but y'all can just call me Snoop. No, I'm not a rap guy, so please refrain from asking if I like my gin an' juice.

New owner of a 7th Gen and loving every mile I can squeeze in before the snow comes. Recently sold my Ducati Hypermotard 1100S. Sounded raw and loved it because it was downright "hooligany" but always got a nasty case of swamp butt after about 30 miles. The seat looked cushioned but it wasn't. Had a Honda VTX1300C before that, all farkled out, but it wasn't much fun long-range, either. It was a great bar bike but it just sucked on the highway.

So after too many cases of numb swamp butt, I decided that it was time to go back to a sportbike. Sat on a few CBR's and an S1000RR and decided that my now fat ass would swallow the seat so a sport tourer would be a better choice. Honestly, I was considering an FJR and had just looked at a nearly new '08 about 20 minutes from home. Smooth, clean, low miles, but we just couldn't meet on price so I passed. I was flipping through ads and came across the VFR. Instant flashback to '91. (Cue flashback effect) Dad wouldn't let me buy a motorcycle while he was paying for college. Donorcycles, he called them. I turned 21, graduated, and promptly bought a 1984 VFR500. Popped my cherry with an Interceptor. God, I loved that bike. Lots of bikes since then, but you never forget your first, do you?

So back to now. Had to drive a few states over for the VFR but enjoyed the adventure. Super clean bike with 2500 miles for a good (to me) price. Already pulled off the little license plate light extension doodie that was flopping around. Didn't know how old the gas in the tank was so just gave it a transfusion of non-ethanol gas from the local Torco station. I'm in the motorsports biz so I'm really tempted to swap out the pipe, add a PCV or Bazzaz and do some other mods but I think I'll put on some miles before I throw too much money at it. Besides, I don't really need a whole lot more power with cold tires right now.

Anyway, it's been great reading some of the posts. Seems like a good forum. I think I'll stick around for a while.

    Have a great night.

Congratulations on your new 1200. There are more and more members here coming online who have them, so there should be help for whatever you're looking to do to it. And yes, the VF500 was / is a great bike. That too was my first motorcycle so I have fond memories as well. Welcome to the forum.
