Is the stock paint messed up or you just want something different? I would do some searches on mods and you will find a bunch of them. Good luck

What might help others help you providing ideas is what type of riding will you be doing? Touring, Commuting, Sport, etc. There are mods that will help in every category, some are universal. Take suspension, this probably the one area that the VFR is weakest and regardless of what type of riding you do, upgrading it can make a world of difference. Heli-bars and a new seat (custom or aftermarket [Sargent, Corbin, etc.]) for instance make long rides more comfortable, improving your commuting/touring riding comfort. The Power Commander (which you have) and different exhaust help with sport riding performance, not to mention getting a Dyno tune, which means adding the PAIR removal mod. There is a huge laundry list of things you can do to the VFR to "improve" it, it all boils down to $.

    Cheers

I will probably be doing commuting and sport riding.I checked out the heli bars and will be getting those soon if i can find black,i want a seargant seat but cant find 1 without the red trim(any ideas),And what is the pair removal mod? $ doesnt really matter cause i spend what i have to,to get it where i'm satisfied,it's just been a while since i've been in the motorcycle world and 1st time in the VFR world wich i'm coming to appreciate and love this bike it has it's own character.I will gladly take a laundry list lol,the bike is gonna be black on black with sheet metal air brush,i'm looking more for mod's on upgrading looks

So if it's looks your after, check out the fender eliminator kits, steel braided clutch/brake lines (Galfer & HEL, make complete kits) and aftermarket wind screens. All will give your bike a little more flair. As far as Sargent seats, you should be able to get them without any colored trim. I have one that is all black, I bought it direct from Sargent when they had 20% off sale. Another option is have an upholsterer make you a custom seat. I also have the Heli-bars in black so they should be available too. As for the PAIR removable mod is essential for properly Dyno tuning with your Power Commander. You can find a few threads on the forum about it.

Anyway, welcome to "The World" and happy modding!

    Cheers!

As the saying goes, there is more than one way to skin a cat.
Here is a list of some of the places I purchased items from and all of them have provided great customer service and sometimes good discounts too.

Sport Adventure Touring Motorcycle Accessories and Gear - Sport Tour Ltd. (Heli-bars)
Motorcycle Seats - Sargent Seats, Aftermarket Motorcycle Seats, Mustang Seats (Seat)
    www.twistedthrottle.com (Don't remember what I bought here)
CBR Sprockets : GSXR Gearing : R6 Brake Lines : F4i Sprockets : Stunt Parts : Rear Hand Brake : Custom Brake Line : Moto-Heaven.com (HEL Clutch/Brake Lines) Galfer has their own website Motorcycle Brakes – Galfer Performance Braking Systems
Motorcycle Gear, Parts and Accessories at Motorcycle Superstore (Just about everything else, they don't call it "Superstore" for nothing)

    Cheers

I had a friend with a gsxr 1100 and he had done a checkered flag that was breaking up in a way that looked like the speed he was going was tearing it up. Wish I had a picture of it but that was back in 94 and I haven't seen anymore like it. Kind of similar to your idea of the paint peeling back. I like the look of a zero gravity double bubble screen in smoke also. There are a lot of frakenviffers on vfrd which could provide a lot of ideas as well.

To look better? Personal preference, but get rid of the stock exhaust and put a high-mount on there to show off the SSA.

Hard to say now, but if you're going black bike with black wheels, I think a silver stripe using that rim tape (or whatever it is) would be a nice touch.
