    Hello all.

I have always wanted a motorcycle since I got my license, and a couple months ago, one of my co-workers listed his VFR for sale on CraigsList.

He and another work friend had been trying to get me to buy it for about two months, and upon being offered a good price, I finally bought it.

I have been riding the VFR for about three weeks now and I LOVE it!

Aside from the fun of riding it, it's nice to own a bike with such a following...Ever since my first car, I have never liked owning a vehicle that everyone else has (I have had three Subaru Legacy's and an Audi A4).

From what I have seen, the VFR750 has a very tight-knit community surrounding it while still being relatively uncommon -- something that kind of pushed me over the edge on deciding to buy it.

Anyway -- I just wanted to introduce myself and see what made everyone else decide to get a VFR...

    Thanks!

Oh man you better get some pics up here quick! The ole "this thread is useless without pics" crap will be all over ya.

I'd like to see them too as I've had the pleasure of owning two 3rd gen machines and loved em. Congrats and welcome to the mad house!

I'll post some as soon as I get them.

Unfortunately, her side fairings are currently being painted and wet-sanded, so she's kind of naked...

I'm sure that's pretty common here anyway.

    Thanks for the reply!

    Yep. Original red.

I was actually looking at your dyno thread a few minutes ago. Impressive.

I am about to get my baby dyno-ed at MAC Autosport in Parker as soon as Nick has some time to do it. Their schedule is usually pretty jam-packed!

Sorry about the lack of pics -- I'm working on it...

I'm a big photography buff, so I hate to take crappy cell-phone pictures when I have a $4,000 real camera at home

For the sake of fending off the "This thread is useless..." posts, I'll try to go down and take a quick picture when I get a break at work...

    Thanks for the warm welcome!!!

I just ran my Civic on the dyno last Friday too.

But for $25, all they gave me was this stupid emissions certificate

Just have some wisecrack comments and divergent opinions to offer once in a while, and you'll fit right in, Bunky.

There are safety-nazis everywhere and old grampas too, and i wish you good luck assuredly; but i would never consider a VFR as anybody's first bike, (it's too heavy unless you're a really big guy and is harder to manage at slow speeds than other bikes, fairings either too expensive or impossible to find if you drop it) rather something one graduates up to after 2 or 3 smaller bikes. Most especially any young guys without much prior driving experience. A new rider should start on a much smaller cc bike just to learn the basics + some humility for at least one year IMO.

Just ride within your own experience, which may be zero, unless you rode a dirtbike for years.

OOOOOOH Nakid I am getting all hot and bothered. Shit! Wrong site. Welcome to the site for sure. I don't happen to agree with Squirrel about having a VFR as a first bike, but his opinion is a popular one here. You will do fine if you follow the advise he gave though. My present VFR is my first experience driving a bike....ever. But Squirrel telepathically delivered the same "Take it easy" message to me and here I am with a few miles under my belt and now walking upright.

LOL! Alright...I finally got a picture of my bike. Unfortunately, it's a crappy cell phone picture, but it'll serve the purpose. Thanks for all of the replies!
