Sorry I forgot to mention that I experienced the same stalling issue after dumping gear and holding clutch in for a few seconds. I am a Honda dealer on the car side. I spoke to engineers at Honda head office. They rode the bike for over 40 kms with the engineers not able to replicate the problem. They suggested I take the bike to the dealer around the corner from head office and between the dealer and head office seemed to have solved the issue. I am hyper sensitive about this and tried to ride in the effected range and I seem to be rid of the problem!!! The engineers also completed the ecu update. I feel I got my bike back.... I'm so happy with this bike.

Last time my bike was at the dealers they too changed my plugs, and had no issues for 300 miles, shortly after that the problem reared its ugly head again. I did get a call from the Honda rep handling my case. He said he was going to do some more research and try to find out what the problem is. The one thing no one has done is re-flashing the ECU I will forward your info to the Honda rep working my case. I am glad to hear you are not experiencing any problems with your bike and best of luck in the future. Hopefully they will be able to resolve my issue and I too can be on the road again. I ussually ride until the snow flies but that time is approaching quickly.

Do you happen to have the Phone#? I looked up online, but found a few possibilities. Is it "Markham Outdoor Power"?

    Ouch!

Have you communicated the counter measures put in place with the Canadian solution?
Ive had not issues with the bike since the counter measures were put in place.

    That is horrible man!

I have; they insist every case is different and they need to find the solution through reports that come through their engineering. That's okay the longer I am bikeless the stronger my case gets if/when it goes to court. This is the the final straw, and patience have run out.:kaboom: I have owned the bike six months and it has been in the shop almost two of them. I stopped at the dealership last week and got to visit my bike, almost forgot what it looked like.

Just as an FYI mlloyd; my dealer here in CT, New England Cycle Works in Groton went through all electrical connections on my bike at 1240 miles. the bike now has almosst 1800 miles on it and the problem has not yet come. Not saying this is the cure but a good possibilty.....I crossing my fingers.....toes!

How ironic you posted this today, the Honda rep rode my bike yesterday without an issue, however he did review my go-pro footage and through a visual of the bike bucking and audio of the sputtering he could see what I was talking about. He took the info I gave him and contacted your dealer in CT. They explained the steps they took with your bike and will be doing the same with mine. In addition he said they cannot reprogram the ECU, but they can reset it. I really love my bike and have invested $1500 in a Corbin seat w/backrest and Hi-mount Akrapovik so I really hope they can resolve this. The Honda rep reassured me they would not hang me out to dry concerning this issue en quote "that's not how we operate" I have confidence in this rep and my dealership that they will change this experience. Please keep me posted as I will you about the outcome. Unfortunately it won't be long before my bike and I head into hibernation.

the owner of the company I work for says, "we are like elephants. We can't always move as fast as the customer would like us to, but we NEVER forget."

    Good luck mlloyd! :cheer2:

    Hi all,

Sorry for dropping off the map for the last little bit. I ran into some medical trouble and have been out of commission for the past couple of weeks. Needless to say my bike never made it in to the dealer yet. :(

With the season coming close to an end I'm really hoping to get it looked at before the snow flies. If not first thing in the spring as my warranty is up the last week of may 2013.

I'm thankful in knowing that others are having the problem. Fingers crossed that a standard solution is found.

    Jim

Just about the same time my warranty ends. Well see what happens with the ECU reset and inspection of wiring harnesses. Unfortunately unless they find something obvious in the harness aside from maybe a marginal connection we won't know if it was a connection or the reset; that is if the problem is fixed.

I also have a 2010 vfr 1200 and early on replaced the exhaust with a two brothers carbon fiber and the two brothers Pro-Juicer set on the number one setting. The number two setting works even better but a big loss in gas mileage. Before this mod. experienced some low end power problems. Have 20,000 miles on bike now and runs quite a bit better than stock. Bill

Finally got the bike back from the dealer. They checked all electrical connections, changed the plugs, and re-set the ECU. Rode it back from the dealers and to work this morning, no problems to report. I will keep everyone updated. Getting chilly now though 36 degrees F at 4:30am on my way to work.
