So, 12,000 came up faster than I thought. I'm actually almost at 13,000 after my last escapade with Marrib:cool: Therefore, time for service!

I hear that a lot of VFR owners say that valve adjustment at 12,000 it's a waste of money, and it's not really needed until 24,000. True? Not true?

Also, would you just go by MOM or is there something that can be omitted/needs to be added at that mileage? I bought the bike at 8,000 and know that the guy did basic maintenance according to MOM.

    Thx!

I thought the valve adjustment was at 16k miles and 32k and so on???? Ive also heard that you can probably skip the first scheduled service. I did.

That could be. I don't have the MOM right now with me, and don't remember what it said, so you might be right. I think that I'm going to go for service though, because I bought it used, and know that fork oil, for example, has never been touched. Thanks for sharing though. Honda is great, isn't it? =)

I was looking at the service interval for my '09 the other day and the valve service interval is 16k & 32k. I don't recall the fork interval though, but I had just updated my springs/valves so I wasn't worried about that at the moment.

    cheers

I remeber a post here WWWAAAYYY back..... The VFRWorld member skipped his 16K service and did it at 36K.... The shop he took it to and had it checked out said that everything was still good to go and didnt really need to service it. He did it anyways.
