I've got an '07 w/ 25678mi on it. I purchased new 20-APR-2010. I am going to replace the left low beam this evening. This will be the 2nd time. I've also replaced the right side low beam once. OK they don't cost much and it only takes a couple minutes but dang it every year?! Anyone else replacing bulbs annually???

I don't have an 07 VFR, but I was just curious what kind of bulb it is. Does the 6th gen bike use an H4 style bulb just like the 5th gen or is it something different. I used to have to replace the bulbs (H4) on my 1997 VFR quite regularly and I decided to put some of that 3M double sided adhesive tape (stuff they use for adhering body cladding to the side of cars, it's kind of like thin rubber with adhesive on both sides) to provide some vibration protection to the bulb. I attached the adhesive strip to the face of the bulb that contacts the headlight housing, and left the red strip of tape that covers the second adhesive strip in place. This way the bulb still comes off the headlight housing without getting stuck. I then installed the bulb as usual. My current bike is a 2000 VFR and I used the same method on this bike and I have yet to replace the bulbs again and it is going on three years on the same set of bulbs. I know the 6 th gen bikes have separate high and low bulbs but if they have the same type of metal to plastic contact that the 5th gen's have, maybe this method might work. Just a thought.

I have some of the tape you refer to. I may try this next time. I'm sure it won't be long................

Make sure not to touch the glass part of the bulb, it will cause it to burn out quickly. Also, might want to check your voltage. Over voltage will burn out bulbs too (along with other things)
