Id be interested in one of these kits as well. Does it affect the suspension geometry of the bike much?

You don't have to spend Money to lower your VFR. All you have to do is rotate the triange plate that holds your rear shock in place and lower(raise) the front to match you can get about 3/4in lower this way.

Look on VFRDISCUSSION.com and do a search this topic has been around for along time and there is a more detailed on how to do on this web site.

    still have any of these?

    Hello,
before i get another new paint job on my 02 interceptor, i would sure like to get a hold of one of your lowering kits. Looks like it has been a while since you have posted anything concerning this. If you are still about I would like one shipped to Alaska ASAP, the riding season is just about here.

Let me know please thank you ka90pb@hotmail.com

I never would have figured such a demand for a lowering link. Please keep in mind - you lower the bike, you have less cornering clearance.

    Good luck all, be safe,

I bought the lowering kit and had Honda install it and I luv it! And, I live in Yukon, Canada - so yes - he does ship to Canada.
But, there are advantages and disadvantages to any modification. The only disadvantage I had with my last season ride to Winnipeg, Manitoba and Vancouver, B.C. (a 9000km trip) was in Muncho Lake when the lower fairing acted like a shovel in the middle of rain storm mud soaked dirt road construction. But I got out just fine. As far as cornering goes - I was clocked by my BF doing 120km/hr. on the corners to Skagway, Alaska - with no cornering problems. But I use my bike as a touring machine, not a race bike.
Also - I shaved the seat and that gave me more leg clearance. So - along with the lowering kit I now have a wonderful ride.

I need a little more then that will offer but thanks for the life lesson.
My doctor said that this will be the last year I might be able to ride because of Rheumatiod Arthritis and I need to be able to be more flat footed.
Looks like I might be on a spider next year or a T-Rex?

I want to lower my '98 Gen5 but...

Is MCT54 still around? His last posting is May of '08. From what I can tell, his product looks great & complete ( w/ kickstand ). He is ( or was ) the only one offering the stand and I'm not into welding shop projects.

There seems to be advice from Gen6 folks about flippin' the plate but; 1 Are the Gen6's the same as Gen5's? 2. Lot of the inquiries are about lowering it more than the 3/4 inches the plate flip yields. Most kits yield at least an inch to inch & a half ( Yes, I'm that short ).

MCT54; where are you? ( On a private island in the Mediterranean from kit sales? )

I flipped the triangle but it only lowered the bike (01 5th gen), about a half an inch. I bought the lowering link & it lowered it 1 1/4 inches with the link back in it's normal position.

    blufc3s,
Thank you for your words. What did you do with your stand? Cut it or live with it?
